PH NorCal was there Friday only to take in 4 games. It was good to see Coronado, and Beverly Hills High make the trip to NorCal to compete in our area.
On Friday Brie gave us a look at his value to this team. The 6’3 unsigned Senior displayed his explosiveness in and around the basket. He’s strong with good hops for rebounding, challenging shots, and finishing strong around the rim. He worked well as a triple threat at the high post. He’s a solid body that can defend in the post and perimeter. He had 14pts.
Highlights
This team depends on him to play physical defense in the post area. At 6’3 he’s willing to bang with the big boys in the paint. He had some success scoring from the baseline, and working the high post with good passing, finding cutters and setting solid screens. He makes hard cuts to the basket, or will pop out for a 3ptr at the top.

At some point the transfer will settle in with this team, not just yet, but he’s a tough minded guard who gives good effort on the court. The speedy guard has the handles to create buckets for himself, and others. He has to play with a bit more control but we like his aggressiveness. At 6’0 he’s fearless going after rebounds and attacking defenders in the paint.
It’s good to see Smith on the court after battling his way back from injuries. He seems to be holding up just fine, not afraid to get after it. He’s a 6’3 comb guard with a solid body to handle contact on the drive, bump with the bigs going after rebounds, and handles like a guard who can work effectively up top and off the ball.
The combo guard put in good work on Friday keeping his team in the game, while the top player had some struggles. He was hard to guard in transition and in the half-court. He’s a superb ball handler that could get to his spots for pull-ups, drives into the paint. He went coast to coast a few times. He had 20pts after 3qtrs, 26pts total.
He has a good feel for the game. He uses his overall skill set to benefit the team, while being a productive player within the frame work. He has good movement on the court. He can handle in transition, his vision, and passing were excellent. He has balance, was effective getting into the paint, playing off two feet, then exploding up. He dropped 20pts on the day.
