The Vanderbilt commit started off the season on high note last week with a buzzer beater to push Bloomington North past Bedford North Lawrence while also adding 31 points and 12 rebounds in that win. In my opinion, Roberts is a under-the-radar candidate to win Mr. Basketball and performances like that should be enough of a reason why I think that. This week, he will have another chance to prove his case as he and Bloomington North face off against Center Grove (12/2) and then travel to Castle on 12/3. Would not be shocked to see him get 2 more double-doubles this week.

Reyna is a move in from Illinois but is easily one of the most skilled and dynamic lead guards in the state already. As far court vision, ball skills, and decision making, Reyna is at a high level when it comes to those intangibles. Last week saw Hammond Noll start off the year 1-1 but have a really good chance to improve to 2 wins when they travel Calumet on 12/3. This year I feel is going to be breakout year for the class of 2024 and Reyna certainly falls into that category.

The 2025 class is obviously headlined by Haralson and Sisley but Robinson is whiteout question in that top tier of sophomores as well. In case you have not see Robinson, he is a lightening quick guard that is explosive off the ball and has an improving jumper. Lawrence North lost a lot from last year so that has allowed Robinson to see an increased role this season, which he should thrive in. Look for him to step up and have a big game vs Southport on 12/3. Get to know this guy cause he is going to take off sooner than later.

3 Teams

Mishawaka Marian (3A): For the first time this season, we will get a chance to see the 3A state runner-up from a season ago, the Mishawaka Marian Knights. While they did lose a good amount of production from last year, they do return a solid core and is led by senior PG [player_tooltip player_id='1049162' first='Deaglan' last='Sullivan']. This is a very experience roster and along with Sullivan, they have three other seniors that will help contribute including [player_tooltip player_id='1295304' first='Jackson' last='Price'], [player_tooltip player_id='1049174' first='Dareon' last='Thornton'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1557084' first='Grant' last='Mishler']. 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1384443' first='Zion' last='Rhoades'] is another name that is expected to see a jump in production as well. The Knights will be tested early as they have three games this with a game at Goshen (11/29), and home matchups versus South Bend Ripley (12/2) and Fort Wayne Luers (12/3).

Park Tudor (2A): This Panthers team on paper has the makings of making a deep run come state playoff time and they proved that with a monster win over Guerin Catholic. They are led by one of the best players in the 2023 class with IPFW commit [player_tooltip player_id='868228' first='Jermaine' last='Coleman'] which always helps and then have great complementing pieces with [player_tooltip player_id='935733' first='Bryce' last='Petty'], Thomas Rufflin, [player_tooltip player_id='1297074' first='Kelin' last='Mark'], [player_tooltip player_id='1297034' first='Hudson' last='Horvath'], [player_tooltip player_id='1578356' first='Cal' last='Bostic'], and much more. They just have a solid mix of vets and youth which should really jell with one another. Expect them to improve to 3-0 this week with wins over Greenwood Christian (11/29) and at Indianapolis Scecina (12/2).

Loogootee (1A): The Lions, who are considered one of the favorites win all of 1A, had a rocky start to the season last week going 1-2 in their first three games. This week provides a chance to bounce back and get back on track as they travel to both Wood Memorial (12/2) and Jasper (12/3). This rocky start should not continue as the Lions are just too good of a team to continue that trend. [player_tooltip player_id='868254' first='Peyton' last='Bledsoe'] and company will find a way to get on a roll sooner than later.

3 Matchups

Argos (1A) at Tippecanoe Valley (3A) – Nov. 29th, 7:30 pm: This is about as fun as you can get in northern Indiana this week. Both Argos and Tippecanoe Valley are both, in my opinion, extremely underrated in their respective classes both have some overlooked talent on there including [player_tooltip player_id='1198964' first='J.J.' last='Morris'] (Argos), [player_tooltip player_id='1272950' first='Nolan' last='Cumberland'] (TV), [player_tooltip player_id='1578459' first='Riley' last='Shepherd'] (TV), [player_tooltip player_id='1158194' first='Cam' last='Webster'] (TV), and much more. While I do think Argos is going to be a great team by the season's end, there are still a few more questions on that roster besides Morris. Tippecanoe Valley might just have a little more talent and answers at the moment so I am going to go with them in this one.

Fishers (4A) at Noblesville (4A) – Dec. 2nd, 7:30 pm: Another week, another Fishers game to watch with this one on the road versus fellow Sectional 8 opponent Noblesville. Both of these teams were in my top 10 as far as the 4A class so I am very much looking forward to this one. Fishers had an up-and-down week 1 with a loss to Ben Davis then winning vs. LaPorte while Noblesville started off the season 1-0 with a dominant win over Columbus East. Very much looking forward to the potential matchup of [player_tooltip player_id='1297052' first='Jalen' last='Haralson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1042494' first='Luke' last='Almodovar']. This game will come down to which surrounding pieces step up for which team and there are plenty of them including [player_tooltip player_id='868230' first='Preston' last='Roberts'] (Noblesville). [player_tooltip player_id='1272185' first='Cooper' last='Bean'] (Noblesville), [player_tooltip player_id='1158209' first='Aaron' last='Fine'] (Noblesville), [player_tooltip player_id='935744' first='James' last='Stasey'] (Fishers), [player_tooltip player_id='1578471' first='Taden' last='Metzger'] (Fishers), and a lot more because these teams are DEEP. I think Fishers is still figuring out one another and the experience of Noblesville is something I'm high on so give me the Miners to get somewhat of an upset here.

Sneakers For Santa – Dec. 3rd, 10:00 am: Last week I cheated and added the Gobbler Games to this list and well, I am doing it again with Sneakers For Santa because each game needs to be mentioned as a game to watch. Like I did with the Gobbler Games, I will simply list the talent in this one as well as the schedule. Before doing so, there is one team that is out of state in this, Centerville (Ohio), who has Indiana signee Gabe Cupps and Kentucky signee Reed Sheppard on them..

The Top Talent: [player_tooltip player_id='1557223' first='Peter' last='Combs'] (Bloomfield), [player_tooltip player_id='868259' first='Joey' last='Brown'] (North Central), [player_tooltip player_id='1158227' first='Mason' last='Lewis'] (North Central), [player_tooltip player_id='1297108' first='Rogelio' last='Rivera'] (North Central), [player_tooltip player_id='1226596' first='Cade' last='Brenner'] (NorthWood), [player_tooltip player_id='1530699' first='Jeremiah' last='Alexander'] (Beech Grove), [player_tooltip player_id='868220' first='Ashton' last='Williamson'] (Gary 21st), [player_tooltip player_id='868255' first='Logan' last='Imes'] (Zionsville), [player_tooltip player_id='868244' first='Nick' last='Richart'] (Zionsville), [player_tooltip player_id='868229' first='Myles' last='J. Colvin'] (Heritage Christian), [player_tooltip player_id='868240' first='Joey' last='Hart'] (Linton-Stockton), [player_tooltip player_id='1297118' first='Trent' last='Sisley'] (Heritage Hills), [player_tooltip player_id='1275779' first='Kanon' last='Catchings'] (Brownsburg), [player_tooltip player_id='1363488' first='Flory' last='Bidunga'] (Kokomo), [player_tooltip player_id='1042497' first='Zane' last='Doughty'] (Ben Davis), [player_tooltip player_id='1158204' first='K.J.' last='Windham'] (Ben Davis), [player_tooltip player_id='868219' first='Xavier' last='Booker'] (Cathedral), [player_tooltip player_id='868251' first='Jake' last='Davis'] (Cathedral), much more I didn't list.
