did a good job playing from the wing and doing the dirty work down low. As a wing Matthew is a very good rebounder who cleaned the offensive glass creating second-chance opportunities. With Fossil Ridge being the tallest team at the event he took advantage of mismatches by posting up wings and guards using simple but effective post moves to score. Matthew used his length to help Fossil Ridge to lockdown on the defensive, deflecting passes and making good contests at the rim.
Josh Ray – Eaglecrest
Josh Ray is an athletic smaller power forward who does a great job playing his role. Josh stands at 6’5 but is one of the better rim protectors in the state due to his great shot-blocking instincts and vertical bounce. He blocks shots when guarding on-ball and surprises opponents when he comes out of nowhere from the help side. Offensively, he set solid screens and was a good roller to the basket who finished a few lobs at the rim.
Colby Schuck – Windsor
Colby Schuck did a very good job affecting the game by making hustle plays. Colby is a big combo guard who is a team-first guy who makes the right passes. He did a good job of drawing in the defense and then making passes to open teammates on the perimeter or dump-off passes near the rim. Colby was a very good rebounder for a guard and can grab the ball and immediately push the pace.
Brendan Diehl – Mountain Vista
Brendan Diehl is a hustle player who sets the tempo for his team with his high energy on the court. Brendan is a quick guard who has good instincts on the defensive end, he jumped passing lanes for steals and then easy layups on the other end. He is a good teammate who always is encouraging teammates and being a vocal communicator on the floor. Brendan uses his quickness to be a good rim runner and is a sneaky cutter.
Cody Michaelson – Resurrection Christian
Cody Michaelson did a good job affecting the game on both ends of the floor. Defensively he was one of the best perimeter defenders who used great footwork and length to limit opponents from scoring. Cody has good length which allowed him to make normally easy shots tough for opponents with good contests and some blocks as well. Offensively Cody looked best when getting downhill where he created for himself by cutting or making quick moves to the rim with the ball in his hands.
