There are some established stars like Jaxson Brandl Jaxson Brandl 6'2" | CG Greeley County | 2023 State KS who have little left to prove. But for some others, the Expo is a forum to show what they can do, and an opportunity to grow their game against big-school competition.
Here are the top small school players expected at the Kansas Top 250 Expo this weekend:
The multi-sport star from Inman hasn’t been at many summer circuit events, so this will be a great opportunity to see him in action. Since his freshman year he’s been making a name and racking up honors at the 2A level. He earned second-team 2A as a sophomore and will be in KC a day after a big football game with Conway Springs.
The Expo will be a big opportunity for Hilbert to take another step. He was often overshadowed by the many talented bigs who graduated from 3A Nemaha Central last year. He has a combination of power and skill around the goal that will be matched against a lot of talented bigs this weekend. Hilbert is a team-player who does the little things, so it will be interesting to see how it plays in KC.
Highlights
One of the most impressive bigs on the circuit last summer, Lawson (pictured) will meet many big men who can challenge him in KC. Lawson will bring hustle and the ability to chase plays to the field. He’s big and powerful and very skilled in the post game, something that will be very tough to stop for 2A foes. He might just be one of the best bigs in KC this weekend.
Davis Rokey

Rokey brings a special combination of length and shooting ability to the Expo. He can get hot from deep and really cause a lot of havoc. But he is also big and strong enough to make an impact in the lane and on the glass. Sabetha is talented and experienced, so this weekend could be a preview of a big season in 3A for the Blue Jays.
Brumbaugh looks to take on a much bigger role for 3A Goodland after getting his feet wet as a freshman. He is a long wing who brings a lot of skill. He can put it on the floor and create his own shot, and can hit from the perimeter. Due to his athleticism, he runs the floor well and can defend guards on the perimeter. Saturday will prep the talented sophomore for a big leap as a sophomore.
