Vincent Davis Vincent Davis 6'5" | SF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State IL 6’5 Homewood Flossmoor 2023
Davis was the player that caught my attention from the first game. He has a solid frame and really good skillset from the perimeter and around the rim. Vincent is a good rebounder and help side shot blocker. With his ability to play multiple positions on the court he is a sleeper prospect the at coaches should check out.
Gianni Cobb Gianni Cobb 6'0" | PG Homewood Flossmoor | 2024 State IL 5’11 Perspectives 2024
Cobb is lighting quick off the dribble and was constantly getting layups by beating the defense with his first step. Gianni is very underrated as a passer as well he showcased it in transition hitting teammates in stride to the rim. Another aspect that shouldn’t go unnoticed is his shot making capabilities. He made several three pointers during the open run.
Xavier Sulaiman Xavier Sulaiman 6'3" | SG Oak Lawn | 2023 State IL 6’3 Oak Lawn 2023
A kid that’s no stranger to open runs and really excels in them is Sulaiman. Xavier plays at the right pace in these formats going hard on both ends of the court. He has active hands on defense and that usually turns into points for his team. Sulaiman is an athletic guard who can do many things once he’s in the air. Having this type of body control is a talent and with added strength can be a weapon on the college level. Xavier is a solid shooter who can catch fire after he see a couple go through the net.
Mitch Humphrey Mitch Humphrey 6'6" | SF St. Viator | 2024 State IL 6’5 St. Viator 2024
Humphrey is another kid I saw for the first time. He is a shot making wing who has extended range for sure. Mitch made some pretty deep threes with defenders in his face. His shot release for a player his size makes it impossible to be blocked. Humphrey is also a decent defender and rebounder. Walking away I categorized him as a shooting specialist with tons of upside.
Jayden Watson Jayden Watson 6'7" | PF Bloom Township | 2023 State IL 6’7 Bloom 2023
Watson was blocking shots at a high rate using his length and athleticism in the process. A big man in high school who has the skill set to play the wing in college. He’s a superb athlete that will flourish as he continues work on his shooting.
Edvin Bosnjak Edvin Bosnjak 6'8" | PF Schaumburg | 2023 State IL 6’9 Schaumburg 2023
My second time seeing Bosnjak went well as he showed more of his shooting this time as supposed to playing with his back to the basket. Edvin is a player with upside at his size that pretty scary knowing he missed a whole season of basketball. I believe this season of him defending the paint will develop his shot blocking and rebounding capabilities and coaches will be calling him on a regular.
Greg Anderson 6’2 Oak Forest 2024
I like what I saw from Anderson. A thicker guard who shoots it really well from all three levels. He’s an off the ball guard that knows how to get to open spots on the court. When he has his feet set he’s going to make shots. As a junior I can see him improving his handle and becoming a college prospect by his senior year.
Tre Davis Tre Davis 5'9" | PG Marian Catholic | 2023 State IL 6’0 Marian Catholic 2023
Tre played pretty reserved in this open run. He’s didn’t look to attack as much offensively but he did try to move the ball for his team which is sometimes tough in open run basketball. Davis has the ball on a string and is able to make plays for himself and others. He should be on coaches radar if they need a solid guard that can run a team.
Jakeem Cole Jakeem Cole 6'0" | PG Perspectives | 2023 State IL 6’0 Perspectives 2023
Cole is another guard who played solid but wasn’t at the level of play we know he can be. The reigning Catholic League Player of the year has recently made the move to CPS. Jakeem is a high IQ PG that can make everyone around him better. He sees plays one and sometimes two moves ahead. In the open run you can tell he didn’t have the knowledge of his teammates enough to know where they run or how they score when off the ball. Cole is primed to have a successful season this year regardless of the situation.
Tyler Wooten Tyler Wooten 6'5" | SG Brother Rice | 2024 State IL 6’4 Thornwood 2024
I like what I saw from Wooten. He is really smooth on the perimeter with a shot that didn’t touch the rim. Tyler has good size and plays at a steady pace where he doesn’t get rattled much. I consider him a three level scoring wing that can be really helpful at the college level.
