We have been hitting the road hard over the past few weeks visiting open gyms across the state to begin previewing the upcoming season. I’m out of town this week so while I’m not able to hit in-state open gyms I wanted to begin highlighting some of the top uncommitted senior prospects entering this season. There are still players available for college coaches at any and all levels. Be sure to check out Part One, Part Two, Part Three, and Part Four of this series as well. We have also highlighted six additional point guard prospects still looking for college homes, six additional shooting guards, six more small forwards, and now six additional power forwards. In this article we will finish this series by diving deeper into the center position.
David Meriwether David Meriwether 6'10" | C Lawrence North | 2023 UT (Lawrence North H.S.): Ranked as the #25 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Hoops Indiana. Holds offers from IUPUI, Illinois State, Miami (OH), Morehead State, SIU-Edwardsville, and Southern Indiana. Improved a great deal between sophomore and junior seasons. Meriwether is 6’10”, has pretty soft touch around the basket, and can rebound at a high level. Become much more mobile and has drastically improved his skill level. Low-major Division I big man.
Jacob Cherry Jacob Cherry 6'9" | C Eastern-Pekin | 2023 State IN (Eastern Pekin H.S.): Ranked as the #57 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Hoops Indiana. Holds offers from Bethel and Kentucky Wesleyan. Cherry is a mobile 6’9″ big man who can rim-run, is good on the roll, and can finish well around the basket. He rebounds his area well and can defend the post as well. His ability to move at his size while also possessing good basketball IQ makes him one of the best uncommitted big men in the state. Definitely a scholarship level player that Division II and NAIA programs should watch during the high school season.
James Stasey James Stasey 6'9" | C Fishers | 2023 State IN (Fishers H.S.): Ranked as the #73 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Hoops Indiana. Very highly sought after by Division III programs with a variety of other interest. This 6’9″ center has excellent hands, scores it on the roll at a high rate, and is a great athlete for his size. Stasey is one of the best small college recruits in the state. Just not that many big men at DIII/NAIA levels his size who finish with both hands at a high percentage and play well above the rim. Impressive player who has really started to take off.
Divine Adeyanju Divine Adeyanju 6'6" | C West Lafayette | 2023 State IN (West Lafayette H.S.): Ranked as the #97 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Hoops Indiana. Holds offers from Franklin, Anderson, and Depauw. Has all of the physical tools you could as for. Adeyanju is extremely strong and physical around the basket. He crashes the glass hard on both ends of the floor and finishes well with his left hand at the rim. Capable of driving it a couple of dribble to his left hand from the elbow or when facing up in the post. Should continue to generate a lot of in-state Division III interest.
Dylan Watson Dylan Watson 6'9" | C Castle | 2023 State IN (Castle H.S.): Ranked as the #100 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Hoops Indiana. Holds offers from Franklin and Hanover. Watson is a 6’9″ big body inside who eats up a lot of room defensively and isn’t afraid to bang around on the block. He has a soft touch on the right hand, left shoulder hook shot in the post. Plays with a great motor which is always good to see out of a center. One of the best Division III level big men you’ll come across in Indiana.
Tyler Horton Tyler Horton 6'7" | C Warren Central | 2023 State IN (Warren Central H.S.): Ranked as the #141 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Hoops Indiana. Holds offers from Wabash, Hanover, and Anderson. Horton is a talented 6’7″ big man who can face-up and score out to the 15-18 foot range while also possessing the size and strength to finish with his back to the basket. Should really blossom into a solid role with Warren Central this season. Good Division III prospect for programs to continue to recruit heading into the high school season.
