The event was moved back a week when Hurricane Ian decided to come on land here in the Palmetto State after creating havoc on Florida. Let’s take a look at some freshmen for this season in the 2026 class.
Raymon has all the tools to be a good one down the road. Tre wasn’t able to play in later in the day as he was hurting from an elbow injury.
Tre really moves well over the floor with his length and long wingspan. He played up a few age groups last season on the Grassroots Circuit. Can he get the Stallions back on top again this season?
Washington and Raymon should have plenty of battles in the years to come being in each other’s backyard in the Upstate. A.J. plays the game at a good space and really recognizes defenses along the way.
A.J. doesn’t look to force shots or passes while on the floor. He was able to connect on some perimeter jumpers here today.
Barnes really came to play today while attacking the cup and finishing with both hands at the bucket. Lance showed great body control and did a good job of fighting off defenders to the rack.
Barnes, Raymon and Washington all bring hail from the same area in the Palmetto State. Look for these guys to really battle it out in the years to come.
BJ is the son of Sumter HS Gamecocks Head Coach Bryan Brown. Brown a left-handed guard has a really good demeanor and approach on the floor.
He was able to connect on some shots today when he wasn’t laying out crafty passes to his teammates. Look for him to get some good minutes at the Class 5A level this season for the Gamecocks.
