<p>High School hoops are right around the corner. I can hear the sound of the ball bouncing off the court and the squeak of the shoes. Wake County is the home of some excellent basketball conferences and players. Here are some players to watch this year from the Southwest Wake Athletic Conference.</p>

<p>This kid has stretch four written all over him. He finishes well around the basket. He is a good rebounder. He has the potential to take bigger guys off the dribble while also taken smaller guys to the post. He has range out to the three-point line. </p>

<p><strong>Sam Martin</strong> | 6-9 | Center | Apex High School</p>

<p>Martin has the ability to finish with authority through contact. He is an active big with good post moves. He is the defensive anchor for his team and uses his length to block and alter shots at the rim. He is an excellent rebounder and he has range out to the three-point line. </p>

<p>Trey is a high-motor wing that is an aggressive defender. He has the ability to turn defense into offense for himself and for his teammates. He is a good finisher that finishes through contact. </p>

<p><strong>Drew Weschler</strong> | 6-1 | Guard | Apex Friendship High School</p>

<p>Drew is a big-time shooter with a high basketball IQ. He plays a lot off the ball and is at his best navigating off ball to find space to get his shot off. He has deep range and confidence to take and make three-pointers in transition. While spending the majority of his time off the ball, he can also operate on the ball. </p>

<p>Crotty is a player generating a lot of interest from schools. He has great size and he can absolutely fill it up from behind the arc. Ryan moves well off the ball and does not need much daylight to get his shot off. He can and will shoot it from anywhere. He also has the confidence to shoot it off the catch, off the dribble, and in transition. </p>
