Dick Vitale would have been screaming his famous quote, ‘HE CAN STROKE THE ROCK BABY,’ had he been in attendance. School was in session as these guys showed all in attendance how to shoot the trey-ball. Let’s look at the seminar instructors…

Hands down, Drew was the best shooter I saw in the entire camp. The scorekeeper at the table who had watched him play earlier in the day told me that he went 3 for 3 from behind the arc, but he didn’t shoot the ball much. Well, by the time I got around to watching him play, he was aggressively looking for his shot. He was absolutely phenomenal shooting the rock, and whether he was getting it done off of c&s looks or off the dribble, he was shooting the rock, and it wasn’t even hitting the rim as it was nothing but net. He has a quick release and moves well without the ball. He greatly understands how to get his shot off, whether coming off screens or when the defense is guarding him tightly. He put on a clinic from behind the arc and was hands down the best that did it throughout the camp.
Hands down, Drew was the best shooter I saw in the entire camp.

Jamond was amazing from behind the arc as he shot the ball well in both games I saw him play. He really solidified himself to go into this article during the 2nd game I watched, as he looked for the trey ball more than he did in the first game. He shot the trey ball during the first game but really did his damage in transition by getting to the rack and attacking off the bounce. He played exceptionally well on the defensive end of the floor, as he had several steals by playing the passing lanes. He showed that he can hurt you in multiple ways, and his stroke from behind the arc was one of them.

Harrison is a big body guard that shot the ball well from range with good touch. Whether it was in c&s opportunities or off the bounce, he was producing from deep. He is a high-volume scorer that was aggressively looking for his offense. He put a lot of pressure on the opposing team and, at times, was too much to handle for some of the smaller guards trying to defend him. He plays with a nice pace, was patient with the ball in his hands, and never really was rushed when his defender tried to apply tight pressure. He finished well at the cup and thru contact and even put his middle game on display. With his size, his ability to score the rock from behind the arc makes him a tough cover, and he will be a problem as he heads into his senior campaign.
Whether it was in c&s opportunities or off the bounce, he was producing from deep.

Brian was highly productive from beyond the arc and had one of the best-balanced games I saw. Even though he was shooting the ball exceptionally well from deep and could have looked to take a lot more shots as he passed on a few, he was one of the most unselfish guards in camp. He is a terrific passer that sees the floor well. He is shifty and has a crafty handle. His ability to score at all three levels, on top of his ability to distribute the rock, made life hard for the opposing team. As he heads into his senior year, look for him to be a significant factor for his squad and a key piece on the offensive end of the floor, especially from behind the arc.

Jermontae is a nice catch-and-shoot player and can also create offense for himself and score off the dribble. Even though he was lights out shooting the ball from deep, the strength of his game is his blow-by speed. His ability to get by his man anytime he chose allowed him to have so much space to get his shot off. He showed a good balance between scoring and facilitating, and in both components, his aggressive mindset allowed him to be productive in both areas. He was so quick with the rock in his hands that he created for his teammates every time he got two feet in the paint, as he was constantly collapsing the defense and then finding open teammates. With his ability to get to the lane and add his three-point prowess, he is a young emerging prospect who showed a lot of promise at camp.

Devin’s game can be summed up in one easy manner: ‘ 3 and D,’ and he stayed within this context the entire camp. He was effective in shooting the trey-ball and kept the floor spaced as his defender could not help off him. Defensively he was aggressive with his on-ball defense and showed active hands that made life tough for ball handlers. When it came to Devin’s game throughout camp, it was as though he had the above analysis on repeat as he shot the ball from the 3 and played amazing D the entire time he was on the floor.

Connor can flat-out shoot the rock, and he showed that he had deep range. He moves well without the ball and operates within the flow of the offense, but when he got settled as a recipient of a one more pass or a drive and kick, he showed how dangerous he was from beyond the arc. He was the best shooter on his squad and really opened up the driving lanes for the guys he competed with at camp. He is a luxury for guards who love to attack off the bounce because he helps space the floor and is a reliable guy to drop a dime to off the bounce.

Hayden is a lefty that was a significant factor from behind the arc. He did his most damage in c&s opportunities. As with all the players in this article, he showed his ability to stroke the rock. He knocked down a lot of shots for his squad, and to be a ’26 kid that can shoot it the way he does makes him an intriguing prospect to keep our eyes on. It will be interesting to see how he makes the transition from middle school to high school, where the game is a lot faster and the players a lot stronger. We will be checking in throughout the season to see if he is producing from beyond the arc, as he showed he has the potential to do.
He did his most damage in c&s opportunities.
