Continue ReadingAn athletic, slashing wing who has really improved his jumper over the last 12-18 months, Low put together a really strong junior year for the Comets, averaging 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals a game with 55-39-57 shooting splits. He’s at his best when he’s using his quick first step and athleticism to attack the rim for finishes, but the added consistency with his jumper makes him a really difficult matchup.
Weaton was excellent as a junior, putting up 19.9 points and 10.1 rebounds on 60% shooting. He’s a mobile, rim-running big man with good instincts and timing on the defensive end, great hands, and excellent touch around the bucket. He’s an athletic, bouncy 6-5 forward who can impact the game on both ends of the floor.
Highlights
Wallin is taking a significant step up in competition this year, transferring from South O’Brien to Spirit Lake for his senior year. A physical 6-6/6-7 forward with good touch and footwork, he averaged 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.9 blocks a game as a junior and should be a high impact player for the Indians this year.
Luyobya is quick and has excellent court vision and passing skills, dishing out 7.1 assists a game as a junior for the Lions and posting a nearly 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He’s a respectable perimeter shooting threat who thrives pushing the tempo or playing with ball screens and using his quickness and elite vision to pick apart the defense.
A 6-4 forward who does his damage exclusively inside the arc, Voss averaged 17.1 points and 10.1 rebounds on 64% shooting as a junior. He’s a mobile big man who absolutely pounds the offensive glass (4.1 a game) and he’ll pair with Wallin to give Spirit Lake a dynamic tandem in the paint.
Korver is an absolute flamethrower from behind the arc, knocking down nearly 51% of his 3-point attempts as a junior while averaging 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds a game. He’s an exceptional shooter off the catch who does a great job utilizing off-ball screens to find spaces in the defense to get his shot off.
A wing scorer with really good size at 6-6, Fried averaged 13.1 points and 5.3 rebounds on 51-38-76 shooting splits as a junior. He’s a capable ball-handler and playmaker who can create his own shot or looks for others, and he’s a really good shooter both off the dribble and the catch.
Ingle is tiny but he’s a fearless lead guard who will never back down from anyone, looking to attack the rim, compete on the defensive end, and get others involved. He’s a shotmaker who isn’t afraid of any moment, and he looks primed to have a big senior year for a Cardinals team that should be a contender in 3A this season.
Watters’ numbers (8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists) are definitely smaller than a majority of the players on this countdown, but this athletic 6-3 wing looks primed to have a huge senior season for the Sabers. He provides a ton of versatility on the defensive end, using his strength and athleticism to compete with anyone he’s matched up with.
Highlights
Van Kalsbeek does a majority of his damage inside the arc but is a good enough perimeter shooting threat that it needs to be respected. He averaged 16.2 points and 2.4 assists on 57-38-80 shooting splits. He can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim, he can stretch the floor, and he’s a good and willing passer.
