On September 17th I attended the Central Fall League at Apollo HS in Glendale, AZ.

I viewed 10 teams with eight Varsity and two Junior Varsity mostly based in the West.

Here were some of the senior standouts on the day:

[player_tooltip player_id='831118' first='Emery' last='Young'] Centennial

One of the more well-rounded seniors in the West Valley. He can hit the catch three, post up and get downhill to score though contact. He will rebound and block shots with his undersized team. He moves smartly without the ball and he fills up the stat sheet.

[player_tooltip player_id='814531' first='Adonis' last='Thomas'] Ironwood (Pictured)

A long guard is tough downhill and can hit the three. He can score with post ups and his athleticism has kicked into overdrive. He is truly playing above the rim now on the break and makes smart extra passes. He rebounds well with his size and looks to have a big senior season. He may be their most all-around player as he contributes in many facets of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1141680' first='Bobby' last='Holcumb'] Apollo

A scoring guard is one of the team leaders. He is tough, fearless and skilled. He is a smart passer who makes good decisions. His jumper from the perimeter looked great this weekend with more confidence.

[player_tooltip player_id='996161' first='Lashy' last='Perez'] Apollo

The teams point guard gets a little better each season. He has a tough first step that is difficult to defend. He uses his shifty handle to get passed his defender and will finish off tough layups in traffic or make a play. He has range on his jumper and is improving as an on-ball defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='814527' first='Leonard' last='Romayor'] Ironwood

A pure point guard is becoming their true floor general. He is a very good passer with up the court passes, drive and kicks and his on-ball defense, in my opinion, sets the tone of their defense. He will also hit shots from perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='936905' first='Julius' last='Williams'] Ironwood

An undersized power forward is their glue. He is a warrior on the glass and is becoming a put back king in the AIA. He can space the floor with perimeter jumpers and give a shot fake and get to the rim. He takes contact easily with his football type of build. They play through him in the post during stretches of games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1128235' first='Zach' last='Engels'] Centennial

Their top standstill shooter of the team is Zach. He is starting to score other ways. He will drive it to the rim and score through contact for and-1's as he is getting stronger. He won't create too much offense but he is so good off catch that he can give a ball fake and drive it. Stock up.

Devin Carobbius SG 6'0 Apollo

The teams floor spacer is Devin. He catches and shoots it easily from beyond the arc. He has a quicker release with his shot and can rattle them off when he is hot. He moves the ball when he should and plays from the neck up.
