On September 14th I attended the AZ Compass Prep Fall League in Chandler, AZ.

I took in 3 full games and a half of one game on this night and I may be back for their playoffs.

Here were the senior standouts from the eight teams viewed:

[player_tooltip player_id='867936' first='Rayvon' last='Griffith'] AZ Compass Prep (Pictured)

A top shelf athlete is a three level scorer. The Cincinnati commit makes it look easy in stretches. He can shoot the three, post up his defenders and flush it down effortlessly on the break. He will defend multiple positions with his size and length. I foresee him becoming one of their top offensive weapons all year long.

[player_tooltip player_id='814036' first='Tru' last='Washington'] AZ Compass Prep

I can't think of many better 6th men then Tru. He comes in the game and immediately goes to work. He hits catch threes, pull-ups from mid-range and will score on highly contested tough shots in the paint. He defends anyone in front of him and he seems like he will be a very important piece all year long.

[player_tooltip player_id='1068563' first='Trent' last='Pierce'] AZ Compass Prep

A face-up four-man who can shoot it. He is a plus athlete and can flush it down on the break. He can create a little offense for himself but is best as a catch shooter from mid to the 3pt line. He rebounds well in his area and can push the ball somewhat. The Oklahoma native committed to Missouri before he arrived to AZ.

[player_tooltip player_id='831122' first='Vincent' last='Delano'] AZ Compass Prep

Another spark plug off the bench is Delano. He is a known shooter but in this contest he did more then that. He led the team in blocked shots, moves the ball, hit shots and defends his position. He committed to Portland September 16th on social media and it looks to be a great fit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1576379' first='Jordan' last='Ross'] AZ Compass Prep

The way the team is currently constructed, most of the team are scoring combo guards or bigger wings. Ross is their true PG of the group. The Saint Mary's commit scores on driving layups with his left hand and will use a spin move and his size to score inside. He gets the ball out of his hands quickly and is that true facilitator.

[player_tooltip player_id='994004' first='Mathiang' last='Maker'] Dream City International

An athletic forward is a fun watch. His ability to defend nearly every position makes him intriguing. He can hit the catch three and takes very few strides and will flush it down. He runs the court like a track athlete and brings a lot of energy to the International team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1168771' first='Nait' last='George'] Dream City International

A pure point guard sees plays happening quickly. He has a very quick catch three point shot. He is the most confident I have seen him since covering him. His floater game is very polished and he has a burst to get him passed his defenders and threw dimes all night long.

[player_tooltip player_id='1127089' first='Michael' last='DeHorney'] AZ Compass Prep Black

An active and little taller power forward who works best currently in the paint. He can step up and hit the three but his motor and length allows him to score on put backs, dunks and hook shots. He blocks shots and will rim run. He is heading to Vegas to play with the National team this weekend in the Border League.

[player_tooltip player_id='1571917' first='Lucas' last='Prolla'] AZ Compass Prep Black

A pure point guard with decent size. He has a super high feel for the game and his passing and court vision sets him apart from some others. He can hit the deep three off the catch and will use his size and stronger build to get into the lane to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301337' first='Marquese' last='Josephs'] Dream City Open

A strong senior combo guard is a pit bull defender and a downhill bowling ball. He is well built and uses a tight handle to get paint touches. He has a strong ball fake and uses a quick first step to get passed his initial defender. He will rebound and score on put backs and hit the occasional triple.

[player_tooltip player_id='1032530' first='Vincent' last='Tedeschi'] Bella Vista Prep

I watched their team the first half and they struggled a little versus Compass Black but Vincent played well. He hit a couple catch threes, sprayed the ball around to teammates and actually posted up for a score. He has a good pace to his handle and confidence. He should have a good year for their CAA team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463380' first='Joshua' last='Tillman'] Skyline Prep Select

A sturdy framed undersized power forward is very skilled. He can hit the catch-3, he can score it in the paint with nice post footwork and grabs rebounds in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1590106' first='Marvin' last='Gamble'] Ascending Life

Their team had a tall task of going up versus AZ Compass National team but he did not back down. He defended many positions, he got downhill in traffic and scored through contact. He has a stronger build to handle the contact. He made a few eye opening finishes that caught my attention.
