Thomas Batties | forward | Gonzaga ’23
We’ve mentioned before how Batties looks like he will be a leader for his team. The Harvard commit figures to be an important part of Coach Turner’s plans as a senior. Expect big things from Batties.
Marvin Brimage | guard | Jackson-Reed ’23
The Tigers are once again looking like the team to beat in the city. Brimage will be one of their key guys and is a nice addition to this list.
Justin Gilmore | guard | Jackson-Reed ’24
Gilmore has looked sharp during the offseason. Don’t be surprised to see him have a breakout year for Coach Tee Johnson.
Daquan Davis | guard | St. John’s ’24
By all accounts, Davis will be one of the more impactful transfers in the area for the upcoming campaign. It shouldn’t take him long to become a difference-maker in the WCAC.
Donnie Freeman | forward | St. John’s ’24
Freeman is another talented Cadet to watch this winter. Given his high ceiling, no achievements are off-limits for him.
Nykolas Lewis | guard | Gonzaga ’25
Lewis has lived up to the hype since he first took the court for the Purple Eagles. He gained valuable experience at USA Basketball and should be ready to put together another fruitful season.
Ke’Mari Pointer | guard | Theodore Roosevelt ’25
Pointer is a safe bet to be one of Roosevelt’s go-to guys. He is just a sophomore but looks like he will be a tone-setter on both ends for Coach Nickens.
Jalen Rougier-Roane | guard | Sidwell Friends ’25
There are multiple guys who can hurt you for Sidwell, and Rougier-Roane is clearly one of them. A sharp uptick in both usage and production would not be surprising.
Terrell Webster | guard | McKinley Tech ’23
Webster is arguably as valuable to his team as any player in the area. He was the first name that came to mind for this list.
Caleb Williams | wing | Sidwell Friends ’24
Williams is blossoming into a dominant all-around player for the Quakers. There is certainly a world in which he becomes an All-Met First-Teamer this year.
Chris Yapo | center | Friendship Collegiate ’24
Yapo remains one of the best-kept secrets in the area. He is a forceful paint presence that will require the complete attention of opposing teams. Yapo’s occupancy of the middle gives the Knights a significant boost.
