704 Prospects to Watch, Part III

Take a look at Part III of some 704 prospects to keep an eye on in the high school ranks in 2022-23.

Sam Walters Sam Walters 6'3" | CG Myers Park | 2023 State NC – Myers Park High

Walters is more than jus a shooter on the floor with his ability to finish plays and be a presence off the ball. He averaged 6.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg and 1.0 spg in 2021-22. He moves well without the ball in his hands offensively and has a nose for the ball on defense with his length at 6-foot-3. He’ll be an X-factor in the Myers Park High rotation in 2022-23.

Maurio Hanson Maurio Hanson 6'7" | PF JL Chambers | 2024 State #203 Nation NC – JL Chambers High

Hanson is a forward with quite the feel as a ball-handler, rebounder and scorer in a variety of ways, something that should come in handy for JL Chambers High in 2022-23. He returns as their leading man after producing 12.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 1.4 apg as a sophomore. He’ll be a 2024 whose stock can rise this season.

Bryson Davis Bryson Davis 6'2" | PG Mallard Creek | 2023 State NC – Mallard Creek High

Davis is a lead guard that returns for Mallard Creek High looking to do quite the damage in the backcourt after a productive 2021-22 season. He went for 17.0 ppg, 5.2 apg, 3.8 rpg and 1.4 spg in 2021-22 and with Langston Boyd Langston Boyd 6'4" | SF Cox Mill | 2024 State NC on the wing, he’ll look to do a lot more damage as he goes out with a bang.

Rashad McCormick Rashad McCormick 6'7" | CG Andover Prep | 2024 State NC – Hough High

McCormick is a versatile wing that can guard multiple positions and has emerged as quite the threat on the fastbreak. He put up 14.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 1.8 apg as a junior in the rotation in 2021-22. As he shows off his ability to knock down shots off the balance, look for his stock to rise on the recruiting trail this season.

Chadlyn Traylor Chadlyn Traylor 6'3" | CG North Mecklenburg | 2025 State NC – West Charlotte High

Traylor takes over with the departure of the dynamic duo Landon King and Chance Morrow. He got some experience under his belt in his debut with 9.5 ppg, 4.2 apg, 3.9 rpg and 1.9 spg. He’ll look to build on that with a breakout sophomore season for West Charlotte High in 2022-23.
