Cooper is a 3 level scorer who does his damage in numerous ways. The first thing that stood out was his athleticism and slashing ability. Nils had several dunks including a poster on 2 Corner Canyon defenders that wowed the crowd at McBride High School. In addition, Cooper also showed an affinity to score from outside. He hit a couple 3 balls from spotting up and also hit a couple of pull up jumpers from mid range. Nils is the son of ex Laker legend Michael Cooper.
Highlights
Loving the development of Christian Jones Christian Jones 6’4″ | SF Bishop Montgomery | 2023 State CA-S . The 6’5″ shooting guard is one of those players that has gotten better every year. Jones brings athleticism, length, creativity and scoring to the floor. There were several possessions where the Bishop Montgomery offense was looking flat and Jones found himself with the rock and made something happen for his team. Jones has a good mix of ball handling and bounce which allow him to get into the lane and finish creatively. He is also showing an improving jumper and ability to hit from long range. In addition to his offense, Jones has all the tools to be a very good defender. Runs the floor well, moves his feet, and has length to disrupt his opponents.
Making his debut for Rancho Christian, the 6’8″ swingman put on an impressive performance and showed why more offers are starting to come his way. Patton Jr. is a smooth athletic wing who can be depended on to make shots. His slashing and rim running abilities are elite as he has the ability to put on a show on the fastbreak and open rim. Patton Jr. also showed his range with his 3 ball off the dribble. On defense, he is able to use his length to bother his man. Long term potential and outlook is high for Patton Jr. as he has all the tools to be a dependable wing at the D1 level.
A smooth operator. The 6’6″ transfer from Hillcrest continues his ascent in the rankings with another solid showing in the books. Gory displayed feathery finishing ability sidestepping defenders on his way to the rim and also shot making ability from the perimeter. He has a good change of direction and does a great job with the pull up off the hard right dribble en route to his mid range jumper. Gory is joining some good talent on this Oak Hills squad and looks to keep increasing his stock as the season continues.
Che Brogan
Che Brogan
The only freshman on this list, Che is a versatile lefty with huge upside. Brogan isn’t afraid of upper classmen and goes at them. He is smart and impacts the game in many ways. Brogan displays good triple threat potential with use of the jab step and rocker step on multiple possessions which freed himself up for jumpers in which he swished the net. He is crafty in which he also utilizes head fakes and pump fakes en route to his way to the rim. On defense he shows effort and promise. Just like his Mater Dei counterparts, Che hustles and plays with heart and motor. Basketball is in his blood as his dad Tom Lewis played for USC and Pepperdine. Brogan projects to be one of the top freshman of his class.
