Willing passer.
Shot-release is a little low. His lower body form on the jumper is fine.
LaMichael was certainly a bit deferential during the June Combine. As one of the younger players (2023-2026), that is typical, but Porter is a point guard and it is always preferred for point guards to be more in command of the game, more assertive, vocal.
Defensively, Porter needs to “sit down” more when playing on-ball defense. His court awareness defensively is ok, not yet good. He was turned around three times in a single game, not seeing “ball-you-man”. That was occasionally a problem for him.
The mindset of LaMichael Porter LaMichael Porter 6'0" | PG Brainerd | 2025 State TN seems to be pass-first, innovation. His court vision at the combine was impressive. He helped a couple of teammates get high-percentage layups with leading, lob passes in mild transition.
Quickness is an asset for Porter. News mid-September is that LaMichael Porter LaMichael Porter 6'0" | PG Brainerd | 2025 State TN is transferring to Brainerd High School where he will get plenty of quick guards and wings to defend in practice.
Movement away from the basketball by LaMichael Porter LaMichael Porter 6'0" | PG Brainerd | 2025 State TN looked average. With his quickness and ability to create with the pass, it will be beneficial if he can cut, flair, or anything to find the basketball more often. Good things followed his halfcourt touches. The games just did not include enough of his touches.
Abe Reinbold | 6’2” PG | Cleveland |
How did he measure against the competition?
- Class of 2026
- 6’2″
- Wingspan — 6’0.5″
- 3/4 Court Sprint — 4.1 4.1
- Lane Agility — 12.10
- Shuttle Run — 3.5, 3.6
- Hand Span — 7’5″
- Hand Length — 7.5″
- Camp Ranking — #41
NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2021 Bulls Coby White
During the June event, Abe ran the floor well and provided a viable outlet each time. Transition offense during his games was not very effective and the ball didn’t find him on those breaks even though Reinbold pumped those pistons consistently.
Defensively, Abe showed an enormous amount of accountability, both investing in defense of the assigned player and hustling to the most dangerous man if a teammate failed to sprint back. Reinbold’s lateral mobility was better than average for a ’26 prospect. Solid technique on his close-outs.
At 6-foot-2, he looks to be a blossoming 2/3 at the high school level. Cleveland Head Coach Reggie Tucker will not be exposed if he places Abe against any point guard through wing for short spells. Admittedly, AR needs another year of physical maturity to rebound at the level necessary for Cleveland to lean on him there.
Shooting form consistent, effective, repeatable. No glaring weaknesses at this very early stage of development. The intangibles of (effort, focus, commitment) point to a lovely freshman year at Cleveland High.
