The event featured many of the top players from the class of 2023 and allowed them the opportunity to participate in several drill stations and culminating with 5-on-5 scrimmages. I was able to attend the event and here’s a look at some additional standouts I saw.
1. LJ Brown – Orangewood Academy
Brown stood out as a very good scoring guard. He’s quick off the dribble, accelerates and gets to the rim. Doesn’t settle for jumpers. He recognizes the defensive mismatch and knows when to attack the basket. Is able to draw fouls at the rim and get to the free-throw line. Able to pull-up and shoot off the dribble in the halfcourt; solid midrange shot. Good defender and good communication defensively.
2.
Tyler Small

– St Anthony
Small was solid in the 3-on-3 continuous drills. He’s a good scoring wing. He’s comfortable handling the ball and creating his own shot. Able to shoot the couple dribble pull-up jumper in the halfcourt. Can pull-up and shoot in transition as well. He pushes the pace well on the break and is able to get to the rim. Finishes through contact Consistent shooter from three-point range and able to knock down the pull-up three.
3. Jordan Malveaux – Adelanto
Malveaux was a quick little guard. Hits defenders with bursts of speed and and attacks the basket relentlessly. Small guard but is able to attack consistently and draws contact at the basket to get to the free-throw line. Finishes well through traffic. Shoots it consistently from three-point range and is able to knock down the pull-up three in transition. Takes and makes big shots.
4. Henry Eme – LA Premier
Eme stood out for doing a lot of the little things. He’s a bit of a combo between a forward and a big. He has good size and does a good job setting solid screens. He’s a good rebounder who gets into position and boxes out well. He moves well defensively too. He is quick and agile and slides his feet well. He’s got the mobility to stay in front of quicker guards and ball-handlers on the wing.
