This weekend, McBride High School in Long Beach, CA played host to the annual Pangos All West Fresh/Soph camp featuring some of the top talent from the classes of 2025 and 2026 in the Western US. Players from California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington attended the camp. I was able to attend the event on Saturday evening and I focused on the CA players on Court 2. Here's a look at some of the top standouts I saw.

Johnson is a solid point guard. Does well running the offense and pushes the tempo in transition. He's quick, has solid handles and is able to get to his spots on the court. He can attack off the dribble and he has consistent shooting range out to the three-point line. Defensively, he uses his length to disrupt the passing lanes and force turnovers.

2. Maximus Vanlaningham - Woodcreek 2026

Vanlaningham has a strong offensive skill-set. He is a forward with guard-like handles who is comfortable with the ball in his hands and attacking off the dribble. He's a strong finisher at the basket. He can move without the ball too; makes solid rolls to the rim and runs the floor well in transition. Defensively, he is mobile and uses his length to block shots at the rim as well as challenge shots on the wing.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='1630659' first='Isaiah' last='Carroll'] - Harvard-Westlake 2025

Carroll is an athletic wing who is active around the basket. He's a finisher who finish off of rolls to the rim and off of lob passes. Can handle the ball in transition and looks comfortable creating for himself. Range out to the three-point line off the catch. He's a very good rebounder who gets in position and can rebound well through traffic. A good on ball defender who uses his length and quickness to stay in front of ball-handler.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='1956478' first='Ty' last='Ingram'] - San Ysidro 2026

Ingram is a scoring guard who is comfortable creating his own shot in the halfcourt. Does a good job creating space to get his shot off against defenders. Uses spins to get into the lane and he can finish strong through traffic. Good handles. He gets out in transition and can finish on the break. A slasher who can beat his defender off the dribble consistently.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='1267940' first='Elijah' last='Bragg'] - Mater Dei Catholic 2025

Bragg stood out as a solid forward prospect who plays both ends of the court. He runs the floor well, fills in the lanes and can finish at the basket. Soft touch around the rim. His scoring opportunities came off ball on cuts and transition buckets but he can also face up and shoot the midrange. Uses his length to challenge shots at the rim and on the perimeter. Good offensive rebounder.
