Thankfully thanks to BallerTV, we were able to go back and see some more individual performances worthy of mention. These guys simply did a little bit of everything at their position on both ends of the floor but didn’t necessarily pile up huge stats so it was hard to categorize them. So we’ve created a new category – our top All-Around Performers.
Aidan Rice Aidan Rice 6'2" | PG Beaverton | 2024 State OR (2024 Beaverton)
While he earned himself the reputation as a shooter at the 6A state tournament, the truth of the matter is Rice is a tremendous all-around player. His shot really wasn’t falling at the event, so he simply changed things up and became a facilitator on offense and worked hard on defense. The junior has an incredible feel for the game and that was very clear last Sunday.
Owen Nathan Owen Nathan 6'2" | CG Roosevelt | 2025 State OR (2025 Roosevelt)
Roosevelt has a lot of big names, but don’t sleep on young Nathan. The sophomore guard kind of did a little bit of everything at the Top 250 expo, hitting outside shots, converting drives to the hoop, passing to the open man, and locking down on defense. The numbers may not have been huge but he’s the kind of player that’s going to have a good +/- numeric each and every game.
Axton Wongsomadi Axton Wongsomadi 6'1" | CG Century | 2023 State OR (2023 Century)
Wongsomadi is a shooter and has proven that the past couple of season as one of the top three-point makers in 6A. While he hit a couple of threes at the Expo, it really wasn’t as prolific as it has been. So what did the senior guard do? He shifted gears and looked to pass the ball and wound up with some nice looking dishes to teammates for scores.
Max Juhala Max Juhala 6'5" | SF West Linn | 2024 State OR (2024 West Linn)
In the past, Juhala has been a specialist with the corner three but at the Expo he was able to show off a little bit more of a diversified game. The lanky lefty was able to create off the dribble and really got out on the break for some easy hoops. Older brother Joe topped out at 6-foot-7, so there’s a chance that Juhala might still add to his 6-foot-4 height.
Charles Kapranos Charles Kapranos 6'4" | SF Grant | 2024 State OR (2024 Grant)
Guys with a blue collar ethic can be sometimes hard to find, but Grant has a good one with Kapranos. The rugged forward brought his lunch pail to the Beaverton YMCA and really worked hard on rebounding and defending opposing post players inside. Kapranos isn’t just a brute force player though as he has polished offensive moves and a soft touch on his shot.
Lucas Post Lucas Post 6'4" | PF Grant | 2023 State OR (2023 Grant)
Grant head coach Dondrale Campbell will be looking for contributors in the frontcourt and Post showed some signs he could be a guy to call upon. The 6-foot-4 senior lived up to his name with some scores in the paint but also flashed out to hit some face up jumpers past the three-point line. Post showed a good motor all day long and wasn’t afraid to get physical.
Redding Longaker (2023 Benson)
Longaker transferred to Benson for more playing time and if his play at the Expo was any indication, he’ll earn it with the Techmen. He operated as a stretch four, hitting a handful of open threes while he largely operated in the paint on the defensive end, matching up against the big guys and hitting the boards.
Kaiden Smith (2025 Mountainside)
Mountainside will be guard heavy this season but head coach Dustin Hewitt may have to find some minutes for Smith if he’s on varsity. The sophomore did a little bit of everything from scoring, passing, rebounding, and playing defense whenever he was in the game. Smith wasn’t looking necessarily for any statistics but instead making every minute he was on the floor count as a positive.
Gavin Inglish Gavin Inglish 6'3" | SG Pleasant Hill | 2025 State OR (2025 Pleasant Hill)
Sometimes smaller school players – especially younger ones – can be a bit intimidated by these sorts of events. Not the case with Inglish. The 6-foot-2 sophomore was fearless taking the ball to the basket finishing with either hand, and was especially good at getting out in transition and beating his man down the floor for hoops.
