As with every season, many players from the New England area have decided to take the post-graduate or transfer route rather than starting their collegiate careers. Here are five New England-based prospects to watch this season as they transfer to other programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1081848' first='Aidan' last='Cammann'] to Brewster Academy

The 6'9" big man played well for the Middlesex Magic this summer, and he's now heading to the NEPSAC for a post-graduate year with Brewster Academy. Committed to Harvard, Cammann helped the Andover Golden Warriors to a MIAA Division 1 State Semifinals last season. Cammann has excellent footwork for his size. He's got both the back-to-the-basket and face-up game. He's also a solid 3-point shooter and passer. As he joins an incredible Brewster Academy squad, he's someone to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2313011' first='Justin' last='Betts'] to Vermont Academy

The 6'6" wing is heading to Vermont Academy this upcoming season after playing with The Churchill School NY. Playing with New Heights on the AAU cicruit, Betts flashed elite 3-level scoring ability. Betts is a multi-faceted scorer, he can pull-up from anywhere on the court or score off-the-catch. He's capable of weaving his way around defenders. After he's found his spot, he's able to distribute a pinpoint pass or score. He's a talented player that's heading to the NEPSAC with Vermont Academy, and he's certainly likely to help their team on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325692' first='Darius' last='Lopes'] to Vermont Academy

Another player heading to Vermont Academy, Lopes is a player that's able to do a ton on the basketball court. Coming from Bishop Hendricken High School, Lopes has showcased elite point guard skills with his playmaking and movement. He's also more than capable of scoring in bunches. But, it's his passing that truly separates him from the pack. Simply put, Lopes is just a well-rounded basketball player. There aren't many flaws to his game. He's got great instincts and he has a great feel for the game. Lopes headlines a stacked class for Vermont Academy, and he'll look to continue the success.

[player_tooltip player_id='1081873' first='Justin' last='Menard'] to St. Thomas More

Menard is on his way to the NEPSAC AAA to play for St. Thomas More basketball. Menard is a 2024 guard that's highly creative and crafty. He's great in the pick-and-roll and he creates opportunities for his teammates off-the-dribble. As a scorer, Menard can do a little bit of everything. He can come off screens and set into the shot, or he can pull-up from mid-range or 3-point territory. Menard is an elite offensive prospect, and I'm excited to watch him with St. Thomas More in the final years of his high school career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1362417' first='Mason' last='Blackwood'] to New Hampton School

Blackwood transfers from Aquinas High School in New York to New Hampton School. He's certainly a player to keep an eye out for, because he's supremely talented. First off, Blackwood is a 6'5" guard that is an incredibly athletic scorer. He's a great 3-point shooter. He's filled up his highlights with stepback 3's and deep pull-ups. But, he's also an excellent slasher and he gets to the rim well with his quick first step and burst. He's just a high-level athlete that uses it well, and expertly combines that athleticism with his length to be an impactful, well-refined player.
