We have now released all four classes from 2023-2026. We are going to try something new. Look at the whole city in the AIA for position. NOT EASY TO DO, but why not.

We start with usually the most important position-the point guards! How will they impact next season--not necessarily the best 10 prospects. Some can be both of course.

Here are the Top-10 most impactful PG's in the AIA for this next season:

[player_tooltip player_id='994006' first='Styles' last='Phipps'] St. Mary's

His combination of scoring and making plays for his teammates is at the top. He is so shifty at times it is like he is on skates. He will probably average close to 30 ppg is my guess and lead the Knights back into the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='996176' first='Bryce' last='Quinet'] NDP

A sharp shooter is steady as the come. He has real range, he is always calm under pressure and seems to always make the correct play. His shooting separates him from many in the state. The young boys from Scottsdale have a chance to make an Open Division run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150940' first='Rowan' last='McKenzie'] Boulder Creek

Another gunner has volleyball line range and throws darts to his team like he is on the football field. His physical background makes him a tough cover and good on the ball. He will try and guide his team back into the Final-4 for 6A or the Open Division.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] Basha

It is rare to put an incoming freshman this high on a list, but Magee's on-ball defense, speed, ball handling, passing and downhill play will set the tone for the Bears on day-1 in 6A.

[player_tooltip player_id='994130' first='Isaiah' last='Kai'] Campo Verde (Pictured)

If we talk about the consummate professional high school point guard, it would be Isaiah. He is consistently moving the ball and looking to push the pace for his team. He has a nasty pull-up and knows when to score or make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150823' first='Kalek' last='House'] Desert Mountain

Another stud freshman this season for the lead role is Kalek. He has great size already and shoots it, defends at a high level and sets the table for his twin brother and their talented seniors. Look for the Wolves to make the 5A playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='996161' first='Lashy' last='Perez'] Apollo

Another top shelf 5A lead guard who scores it in bunches and will dime his teammates. He is another shifty guard that loves touching the paint and will score or set them up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150195' first='Brigg' last='Wolfe'] MTV

One of the strongest lead guards in the entire AIA. He loves setting up his teammates off the pick and roll and seems to live in the mid-range. He uses his strong frame to score inside. The new head coach will heavily use Brigg.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275428' first='Zander' last='Kamai'] Centennial

A slick lefty scoring lead guard had a monster summer and looks to continue his play in the AIA season. He shoots it well and will make up the court passes and drive and kicks. His size for position, skill and savvy may lead the Coyotes back on a deep run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1425099' first='Kaleel' last='Kelly'] Willow Canyon

Another pure point guard threads the needle about as good as you can. He sucks in the defense and will throw a rope to a teammate. He scores it best in the lane and can pull-up from 15-feet.

8 others who I seriously considered:

[player_tooltip player_id='814517' first='Cohen' last='J Gonzales'] Mesquite

A dynamic scorer who will fill it up in 4A all season long. His stamina. shooting and athleticism will help the Wildcats make another deep run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275429' first='Yarell' last='Greer'] Higley

Speed on speed for the tough defensive point guard. His defense and scoring will help the Knights win a lot of games in the East Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id='814527' first='Leonard' last='Romayor'] Ironwood

One of the top teams in 5A may have its leader. He sets the tone with his defense and then will slice open defenses and score the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1220362' first='Donovan' last='Beard'] Dobson

An easy scorer for the lead guard spot. He will go on his own personal runs shooting it and using his speed to get to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150847' first='Carlos' last='Coronado Jr'] Coolidge

A good sized pure point guard took his team to the Chip last year in 3A. He looks to match that again with his passing and shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id='1042714' first='Archie' last='Graves IV'] Central

One of the summer surprise teams was clearly led by Archie. His shift, toughness and body control in the lane are a tough cover. Looks for him to guide them into the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217315' first='TayVion' last='Wilson'] Kellis

One of the top young shooters in the AIA. He also happens to see the court with next level vision. He has deep range and a quick trigger.

[player_tooltip player_id='831121' first='Kota' last='Benson'] Mesa

A lefty with a big IQ and huge court awareness. He throws dimes all over the court and has basically beaten every team this fall with his passing and shooting.
