There were plenty of big time matchups, college coaches in attendance and a great atmosphere for preseason basketball.
We take a look at part two of some of the top seniors that were in attendance for session one,
If you want to watch the entire event, you can see it here.
Reuben McEachern Reuben McEachern 6'1" | PG Carmel | 2023 State VA | 5’10” PG | Carmel School
McEachern continues to play well in the CBG events he’s been in since the original Fall Series, and the 5’10” lead guard out of Carmel School is everything you can ask for in a floor general. He leads by example and is a natural leader, he can create shots for himself and others off the bounce and is an efficient scorer and he brings it on the defensive end guarding the ball and jumping passing lanes too.
CJ McPherson CJ McPherson 6'3" | SG Norfolk Collegiate | 2023 State VA | 6’3” WG | Catholic
McPherson joined an already talented Catholic group this year and he brings something they really need which is shooting on the wing. The 6’3” off guard is a sniper from deep with a quick release and he works hard off the ball to get open, he crashes the glass and is a good rebounder for his size and he picks his spots and finds ways to get easy buckets as well.
Curtis Blair | 6’5” WG | Steward School
The Liberty commit was fantastic for Steward School in both games on Sunday, as he was one of the top scorers in the event and showed the entire arsenal in doing so. He’s extremely good in the midrange where he has great footwork and balance to get into shots and fadeaway from defenders and make tough shots, he can get downhill and is a crafty finisher around the rim and he works well off the ball to get open looks and get defenders on the move too.
Teven Smith | 6’2” CG | Steward School
Smith will be an important piece for Steward this year, and the 6’2” combo showed great strides in their two games Sunday as he played a much bigger role as a ball handler and scorer than he did last year. He handled pressure well and controlled the tempo, he made shots from deep when he moved off the ball and he got downhill and got to the line quite a bit as well.
Greg Jones Greg Jones 6'5" | SF Hayfield | 2023 State #258 Nation VA | 6’6” WF | CBG North
Jones continues to impress as one of the best available seniors in the state of VA, and he just continues to improve and become more of an alpha as well. At 6’6” there isn’t much he can’t do as he can play on the ball and handle it and create shots for himself and others, he can run the floor and play in transition, he’s improved in his shooting from deep and he is a versatile defender that rebounds too.
Dj Holloway Dj Holloway 6'0" | CG Hayfield | 2023 State VA | 6’0” CG | CBG North
Holloway really shined at CBG events in the past, and he did the same thing in their two games on Sunday as he showed his two way impact and athleticism that makes him so exciting. He flies on the defensive end jumping passing lanes and sitting down to guard the ball, he’s electric in transition when he can get downhill and use his strength and athleticism to finish at the rim and he plays with great energy when he’s on the floor.
