Continue ReadingHillcrest last season captured the 4A State Championship as they went on a 24 game win streak. Along the way they had tough games against Blackfoot, Preston and Rigby but other than that they really cruised most of their games. Their two losses came to two good teams in Utah in Orem and Corner Canyon who both had college bound players.
Will Hillcrest be able to run it again? The answer is yes. They have the talent to run it back as they had some young pieces in their program. One of their best players coming back is Isaac Davis Isaac Davis 6'8" | PF Hillcrest | 2024 State #140 Nation ID (2024). Isaac is a 6’8 PF that can do so much for their team. He is a team player and willing passer. He demands the ball when he is deep in the paint but he is not demanding the ball every possession, in fact Isaac does a great job of keeping the ball moving. Isaac is currently being recruited by various Division 1 schools and holds various offers. He had an excellent Spring and Summer.
Hillcrest also has a new addition to add to the backcourt. Ike Sutton Ike Sutton 5'11" | PG Hillcrest | 2024 State ID (2024) has moved into the Hillcrest boundaries and could really help them in the backcourt breaking pressure but what he is really good at is shooting the ball. He is a knockdown shooter and when he is on he can hit multiple shots from deep in a row and put a lot of pressure on the defense. The other backcourt mate will likely be Kobe Kessler Kobe Kessler 6'3" | PG Hillcrest | 2023 State ID a 6’2 PG that can can be a solid lead guard or he can be off the ball which will make these two excellent running mates.
Another piece of the puzzle for them to repeat will also provide shooting and that is Titan Larsen ( 2025). Titan has some size over off the ball and he can get going from the outside. When that three-point line is the great equalizer Titan can shot that thang from deep as well. He is a tough guard that rebounds and plays hard-nose defense.
Hillcrest is well coached and you will see a lot more production from various players so keep them in mind as they make another run at the State Championship in 4A.
