Below is the eleventh installment in our Transfer Watch 2022 series. In this edition of the Transfer Watch, you will notice that with the start of the 2022-23 academic year just two weeks away, one DI prospect is returning to Pennsylvania and a major prospect from North Carolina is headed to the Keystone state.
Khali Horton Khali Horton 6'9" | SF Keystone Academy | 2023 State PA – 6’8” / Senior / Keystone Athletic Academy / Team Final EYBL / Wing: This name may sound familiar as Horton (pic above) spent the 2020-21 season at Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA. During his sophomore campaign at CP, he averaged 14.4 points; 6.2 rebounds; and 1.3 blocks per game and led Cathedral to the PIAA 5A state title. In their state championship game win over Archbishop Ryan, Horton was outstanding, scoring 25 points and dominating the glass. He is an athletic wing who owns speed, hops, and toughness. That trifecta allows him to finish above the rim. Horton can also shoot the mid-range jumper and splash threes. As a bonus, he is a solid rim protector. Horton spent the 2021-22 season at Legacy Early College, a charter school in South Carolina. He holds multiple DI offers.
Will Riley – 6’7” / Sophomore / Phelps School / UPlay-Canada / Wing: This Canadian import is a long and athletic prospect who can play a unique point-forward role. Riley also runs like a gazelle and can flush on an opponent’s head. So, he is unstoppable in the transition game. For such a long prospect Riley possesses tight handles, which means he can use dribble drives to get to his stop and pop game or all the to the rim. He is extremely creative off the dribble. Plus, Riley can shoot the three from anywhere along the arc. In July at Nike EYBL Session 4, Riley was simply dominant and grabbed the attention of scouts and college coaches.
Reggie Selden – 6’2” / Junior / Bonner & Prendergast / NJ Hilltoppers / Combo Guard: For the last two years Selden (12.7 ppg. in 2021-22) was a starter for Bishop Eustace (NJ) and was widely considered one of top 2024 guard prospects in South Jersey. His speed, ability to get downhill and ball-on-a-string handles enable Selden to push the rock at a level few other guards can match. In the half-court, those assets plus his solid frame and extraordinary body control, allow Selden to get to his mid-range spots or all the way to the tin. He is a tremendous drive and kick distributor too. During the 201-22 season Selden recorded three 20-point games as well as a 18-8-5 night vs. Glassboro (NJ).
Caleb Crawford Caleb Crawford 6'1" | PG Scotland Campus | 2023 State PA – 6’2” / Senior / Scotland Campus / NLPB / Combo Guard: Last season the former Haywood Christian Academy (NC) standout posted a ridiculous 37 points per game to go along with 10.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. During the 2021-22 season Senyo put up two 50-burgers as well as 40 points on nine separate occasions. Obviously, this speedy guard prospect can fill it up. But he is more than just a 3-level scoring machine. Senyo is also a high basketball IQ guard who possesses great court vision, so he can play the role of distributing point guard as well. As a bonus to his elite offensive skills, he is a tenacious on-ball defender.
