<p>The NorCal class of 2023 rankings have been updated. We've expanded our rankings total and added several newcomers that have played their way into the new rankings. The Spring and Summer live periods provided PH NorCal the opportunity to see a wide selection of prospects since coming out of covid. We make every effort to view as many new, up and coming prospects as we can. Here's our list of the top newcomers in this class.</p>

<p>French busted onto our radar in the early spring playing a well balanced game, and being a player that can get buckets for his team. He's a balanced player that can do multiple things on the court. He picked up his first offer this summer.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1497987' first='Mecca' last='Okereke'] 6'7 Forward of San Leandro HS.</strong></p>

<p>He had a breakout spring, and summer running with PHPS 17. His activity around the rim was noticeable, protecting, blocking, and changing shots. He's a regular threat for the lob dunk anytime he's on the court. A top notch rebounder. He's a double double player this up coming season. </p>

<p><strong>Dennis</strong> has steadily improved his overall play. He has that basketball body and an improving skill set that allows him to have effect where ever he sets up on the court. Inside/outside, on both ends of the court.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1497986' first='Travis' last='Hightower'] 6'7 Forward of Justin-Siena HS</strong></p>

<p>He helped lead the small school to a state finals appearance, he's continued throughout the summer showing his agility, and overall skill-set to handle, and operate along the perimeter, and the wings. He has a decent pull-up jumper, he's a good runner in transition with different ways to finish at the rim. His lengthy strides puts him in the paint and at the rim for points regularly. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1497976' first='Max' last='Tengan'] 5'11 Guard of Sheldon HS.</strong></p>

<p>A high IQ guard capable of playing both guard positions. He has the shifty handles, and guard quickness needed to create, his passing, and vision are excellent. He can score off the ball with a consistent jump shot, mid-range all the way out to the 3pt line.</p>

<p>He's a versatile prospect that handles the ball well in the open court, actively looking to facilitate and generate shot opportunities for himself and others. He's an effective scorer off the ball with short and long jumpers and off the dribble into the paint. </p>

<p>He's an athletic do-it-all guard that can impact a game. He's strong, and scores in all the ways a player with his capabilities can. He gets all the attention, handles the physical play, and still able to be a bucket getter.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1406723' first='Jake' last='Fields'] 6'4 SG of Monte Vista HS</strong></p>

<p>The two sport athlete (Baseball) is in constant motion as a shooting guard on the court, in transition or working in the half-court. He has good form, a quick release, and a reliable 3pt shot he can hit in transition, spotting up for the catch and shoot, or using screens to get himself free. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1497985' first='Hugo' last='Rutherford'] 6'9 Center of Waldorf HS.</strong></p>

<p>At 6'9 he poses a good fundamental skill-set for the post position. He showed good vision and passing from the low block spotting cutters from the other side. He's a deliberate worker in the post showing patience and footwork to get his shot off. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1497988' first='Calum' last='Rutherfurd'] 6'11 Center of Analy HS.</strong></p>

<p>He brings the size and an improving skill set for the post position. He's an aware prospects that will protect and defend in the post area. He has an improving skill-set on the offensive side, and will produce points in the paint at this level. He passes, screens and rolls effectively. He's a big target moving towards the basket.</p>
