[player_tooltip player_id='2409512' first='Kaden' last='Lewis'] 2023 6'0 A&M Consolidated High School (Drive Nation CTX 17U Smoot)

Kaden is a high level shooting guard with his ability to score off the bounce from all three levels and really takes what the defense gives him every time he can. He is a confident scorer who showed an ability to pull up from beyond the arc or by attacking the rim and really selling the drive and stopping to score in the midrange. I loved his willingness to push the tempo and run the fast break. He made great passes ahead, and had one picture perfect 3/4 court pass that hit his teammate in stride for an easy layup. Lewis's ability to go coast to coast after catching an outlet pass really allowed his team to flip the game around and burn teams on the fast break. I would like to see him work on controlling the speed of the game and operating more out of the half court.

Zyrin Brantley 2023 5'11 Monterey High School (GPS West Texas)

Zyrin is a confident guard who loves to turn the corner on his opponent, but also score off the bounce in bunches. He loves scoring in the mid-range, calmly and quickly pulling up in front of his opponent. He is quick and shifty and got around defenders with ease. Whether he was manipulating them with jab steps out of the triple threat or changing his speeds, he always seemed to be a step ahead of his opponents. He used it as a weapon in the full court, pushing the tempo and getting to the rim. He unselfishly made shovel passes and dump off passes to his bigs after drawing a second defender. He sees the floor like a true point guard in the half court as well, calmly making the right reads in the pick and roll.

Nicholas Otero 2023 6'1 Vandegrift High School (Austin United Purple)

Nicholas is a sharp shooting guard off the catch who showed an ability to play off a lead guard and took pride in punishing the defense with his quick trigger he has on his shot. He lives in the corners and runs the baseline to put pressure on the defense, and the defense is always threatened by how fast he can get his shot up. He loves attacking the defense off the wings and attacks hard closeouts well. He danced around bigger forwards with his handle and scored well from the mid-range when they sagged off him to cut off a driving lane.

Earl Anderson 2023 6'0 Milby High School (His Hoops 17U)

Earl is the ideal glue guy at the shooting guard position with how well he knocked down shots off the catch and move without the basketball. I was very impressed with how well he did the little things on the perimeter, operating the dribble hand-off and the pick and roll when necessary, but more importantly filling space when defenders drove to the rim and sliding into space in the corners. I loved watching him punish the defense for weak closeouts and caught them on their heels when they closed out hard.
