The talent level was good; The overall organization of the event exceeded expectations. Everything flowed smoothly, and the players got consistent work for the entire time. Four stations at 20 mins increments, followed by four stations of 3v3 with refs. Creative and different, but allowed players to stay active and not sit. It’s also the type of event I like to attend because there are always some hidden gems in the gym. Here are some of my standouts from the event:
There is a lot to like about this kid. He stands 6’5-6’6 and is starting to figure out how to be effective offensively. The pure post player demonstrated solid footwork in the post with the ability to finish in traffic and through contact. Highly impressed with how he utilized his body, especially in a mismatch situation. Versatility was on display with the ability to screen and roll, pick and pop or slip and properly seal did not go unnoticed. Crashed the boards at a high rate and provided solid rim protection. He is one of those players the stat sheet doesn’t give enough credit to on a nightly basis. Collier does a lot of dirty work and has a motor to go along with it. He even stepped out a few times to show his range.

Castillo flew below the radar on the day but was productive overall nonetheless. He showed that he is more than just a shooter. Castillo had quite a few High IQ plays most at his age would not be able to make. He was aggressive in attacking the basket and didn’t settle for the jump shot; This was a major plus for him. Defensively, Castillo was one of the top disciplined players at the camp; Castillo forced his match-ups into poor shot selections, which was a highly underrated skill of his. He is an intricate part of the success of Tocoi Creek this year.

Gee was one of my favorite picks of the camp overall. Dependable, versatile two-way player who is athletically and physically capable of enduring sizeable mismatches. Every time he was matched up on the 3v3, he made it a focus to guard the best player on the opposing team. He didn’t shy away from the competition. Gee is strong at slashing to the rim; he followed his shot well for his position winning most offensive rebound battles. He is a jack of all trades; I can’t wait to see him & Maddox Palmer Maddox Palmer 6’4″ | SG Beachside | 2026 State FL in live action together for Beachside High.

He was arguably the most talented player at the camp. The incoming freshman is oozing the potential for the next big thing to come out of North Florida. Palmer did everything and some on the day. He attacks the basket like he is possessed. Palmer moves like a gazelle at his height, and his hair compliments the analogy well. If you know, you know. Besides that, he is a versatile defender as well as offensively. He plays above the rim and can shoot respectively from the perimeter. Some of his crafty finishes just baffled me on how he was able to convert. I believe he is his best at penetrating the defense. Palmer’s feel for the game is just on another level for his age; There is no doubt he will make waves this year as a freshman.
Marcus Pressley
Marcus Pressley
Here is my sleeper pick for the camp. Pressley was a bruiser with an above-average drop step for a player his size. He was getting downhill almost every single time throughout the day. His understanding of mismatches was good as well. Pressley understood his strengths, got to his spots for high percentage looks, and did not settle for low percentage shots. One to watch moving into the fall league.
There is a lot to like about Murphy. He was very poised and confident shooting the ball. Murphy displayed great size-up footwork with his pivots in a triple threat action. He led the Warriors in scoring last year and should do the same this year as his overall skill set steadily improves.
Ronald Durham Ronald Durham 6'3" | CG Andrew Jackson | 2024 State FL

Durham was all over the place but in a good way. Consistently was able to get to his spots. Durham can score on all three levels. He is most effective inside the arc and around the basket. Quick first step and finishes in traffic at a high clip. He is a workhorse with a knack for scoring the basketball. Defensively he can be a pest, his long reach allowed for timely steals. Durham is another versatile asset to Andrew Jackson and should be the number one offensive option going into the season.
