Big guard with deep range from three and a confident stroke from distance. Really good as a spot up shooter on kick outs or extra passes as well as stepping into transition threes from the wing or trail spot. Can score it off quick post ups over smaller guards, has nice touch in and around the painted area, and can score it from the elbows. Nice passer in transition and scoping the floor out from the perimeter.
Owen Pyle
Owen Pyle
Tough guard with a really good perimeter oriented offensive game. Really good spot shooter from the corners, relocating, or coming off of screens. Guards the ball well and plays tough on the glass. Has good length to his frame with some active hands. Very high basketball IQ and can be a playmaker when called upon with the ball in his hands.
(Pictured) Will be looked upon to fill a big scoring gap his older brother took with him upon graduating. The younger Dorsey is a top tier shooter and scorer from the floor. Can put it on the deck and get to the rim attacking hard closeouts, knives to the rim in transition, finishes with either hand, and strong with good balance. Really will have a ton of opportunities this season and his shooting prowess will pay dividends.
With the departure of big time scorer and leader Zaid Dajani, Olathe Northwest will be looking to fill a big void. Burnett has the offensive tools off the bounce getting to the mid range, heating up from 3, and getting to the foul line to be effective. Has some sneaky athletic ability to him and is a heady defender. Had a really good July and Elite Camp season shooting the ball and getting to his spots which should give him some good momentum heading into the winter.
Scored the basketball at a really high level all spring and summer, especially shooting a really high percentage from three. Kim really is lethal coming off ball screens and getting into his pull up or dribbling down in transition or the secondary break and pulling up from behind the line. The ball handling and playmaking ability was there, handling pressure against some quality guards, and has versatility as a guy who can play both the 1 or the 2.
Highlights
Should have the primary ball handling role for El Dorado entering this season or one of the guys at that spot and Garner had a great July showing he is ready for an expanded role. Really shifty off the dribble especially with his side to side moves to create angles. Crafty finisher off of his drives, Garner can score in tight windows off the glass. Very competitive point guard on both ends of the floor, he plays with some swagger as well.
Daniel Kejr
Daniel Kejr
Could be a breakout candidate as a final piece to a really good Southeast of Saline team. Kejr has a little bit of everything in the back court and SES will need some more back court help to solidify that group. Kejr can knock down an open look, push the break or run the break, defend tough, get a rebound, and make the right read/pass to a teammate. Hit 16 threes on the year last season but expect that tick up a bit with more opportunities.
Dezmond Winton
Dezmond Winton
The athletic and terrific defender Winton should take a big leap forward on the hardwood this season. Winton and the previously mentioned Dorsey should make a pretty formittable back court as both compliment each other well. Winton can get under guys and create steals, is quick on the break and converts efficiently in transition, nice first step off the dribble, nice intermediate game, and is a playmaking guard for others. Winton is a do it all type of point guard who spreads the love on the stat sheet as he is a good passer, goes to rebound it from the guard spot, and converts his opportunities on offense especially attacking the rim.
