“He is an 8th grader that might get some varsity playing time. He can really shoot the ball and has a high basketball IQ, he will need to adjust to the speed and physical play at the Varsity Level.“

Q & A with coach Bryce Laxdal
PHD: What are a few highlights from the summer?
Coach Laxdal: “Our best camp was in Carrington we went 2-1 only loss was to Del Lacs / Burlington in OT“
“As a coach, it was great to have 10-12 guys show up all summer long and really improve both in the weight room and on the court.“
PHD: What did you do as a program to get better as a team/improve individual players?
Coach Laxdal: “Lifting and open gym 3 days a week. A JV league with Oak Grove and Kindred for our younger players.“
PHD: How did you improve as a team over the summer?
Coach Laxdal: “We were so young, we graduated 8 seniors and only Landon has any returning varsity experience. The 5 days of team camps really helped out young guys get used to the speed and physicality of Varsity ball, we had some wide-eyed boys after the first MSUM camp. By the end of the summer, we really grew a lot, we will be young and undersized.“
PHD: Who are a few young players to keep an eye on this winter?
“ Landon Moser Landon Moser 6'1" | PG Northern Cass | 2024 State ND is poised for a break-out season, even with extra defenders sent his way.”
PHD: What seniors should we look out for this winter?
“We only have 2 seniors, Isaac Johnson Isaac Johnson 6'3" | PF Northern Cass | 2023 State ND and Riley Johnson.“
PHD: What will the Jaguars be known for in the coming season?
“We will be pretty undersized but we will play hard and have a nice young group of guys that really get the game, could be a scary match-up come postseason.“
