Before the potential final championship game, the future of the pro-am showcased their talent amongst NBA, Overseas, and College athletes who were once in their shoes. Now lets get into the players that displayed their ability to get people on their feet.
Jaylen Benard -Longwood Commit Bernard was a driving force in the comeback victory for the Black Team taking home the M.V.P. trophy exploding in the second quarter scoring 13 points. Along with driving and attacking the rim Bernard finished with five rebounds. He can explode to the rim on a dime when giving the space. Combine his wingspan, lateral quickness, and the will to play defense makes it hard for ball handlers to get by him. Active in the passing lanes
Bryson Wheatfall III – Wheatfall is getting taller and adding on muscle mass quick. He was reading the pick-n-roll creating the proper spacing for execution. There is a certain maturity to his game, and he remains level-headed. He uses the stepback to create separation getting his shot off. Finished the game with six points, two steals, four rebounds, and one assist.
A.J. Bates Jr. – Bates came out playing to win. One of defensive leaders to propel his team to victory, and creating plays for others. One nice no-look pass to Kam Burton for an easy layup. Directing the offense to the right spots then making the correct pass for the play. Finished with five points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Ja’Cobe Osborne – Osborne looking like an in and out player that can known down the open jump-shot then face-up in post. One play he threw the ball behind his back, stop, gather dribble then spun around his defender exploding with the two-hand jam. Osborne rotated to the help side blocking Bernard dunk attempt. Osborne final stats include nine points, two blocks, three rebounds, one steal.
Kameron Burton – Burton was active all over the floor. Knocking down timely pull-up jumpers late in a close game. Uses the crossover for separation then adds the stepback creating more room to get his shot off. Inserted himself onto the boards even giving a second effort. Burton earned 11 points, five rebounds, and one steal.
