New Faces from the Prep Hoops Louisiana Top 250

While names like [player_tooltip player_id='1159181' first='Trey'Dez' last='Green'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1273359' first='Elliot' last='McQuillan'], there were some new names that showed that they could put it down on the hardwood. That is who this article will look at. We will talk about new faces who made a mark at the Prep Hoops Louisiana Top 250.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Christian Creppel (6'5" | Archbishop Shaw)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Creppel was one of the more impressive players on the day in Baton Rouge. He was very active on the boards and extended offensive possessions for his team just on tipping the ball until he got control or tipped it to someone else. His activity shocked the ball into a teammate's hands for one game winner and he made another off of one of his offensive boards. Creppel has a tone of energy and athletic ability that allows him to make plays. He is definitely a 2024 to watch going forward. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Boston Sledge (6'0" | Lafayette)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2024 guard out of Lafayette reminded me a lot of Neville graduate Patrick McCraney on the day. Not only did he have his hair tied up like PD, he had a shot from three that was very similar. Sledge was excellent in catch and shoot situations burying corner and deep threes off of penetration. Sledge was good in transition situations as well. He made pinpoint passes and finished his layup attempts. His day in Baton Rouge made me a fan in that short period of time. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ki'sean Aggison (5'9" | Beau Chene)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Beau Chene is known for having good guard play. The way Aggison played at the Top 250, he is only adding to that lineage. Aggison was quick as a hiccup to the rim when he got a chance to attack it. What was really impressive were some of the defensive plays he made. He showed plenty of intensity in defending man-to-man. He also snagged the ball out of the air like a corner back and then drove down and scored. His athleticism for his size makes him a guard to watch at Beau Chene this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jalen Brown (5'9" | Avoyelles Charter)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When it comes to lightning quick guards, Jalen Brown out of Avoyelles Charter is about as fast as they come. Brown proved to be a three level scorer who excels at getting to the basket. He is very good at attacking his initial defender and using the dribble, coupled with a quick first step, to blow by. Brown attacked defenders who had the height advantage and scored. He got defenders to play off and he dropped triples on them. He may be short in stature but his game spoke volumes at the PHLA Top 250. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>John Carmody Jr. (6'3" | Loyola Prep)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carmody was a hound on defense during the Prep Hoop Top 250. As a guard, he found himself guarding taller players. What he did was use his strong upper body and quickness to cause turnovers and offensive fouls. On the offensive end, Carmody found himself in finishing in transition or leading the break passing to others for the finish. Carmody is a guard who can play multiple positions and is a high IQ, defensive player. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fresh faces around the state keep the action on the hardwood while helping to bring a new and interesting take on the game. The players in this article are players who can pass, score, and defend. They are all highly talented and can have a big game at any time.
