If any player increased his stock during camp, it was Osa. He made a case that he was one of, if not the best player at camp. That says a lot for a 2025 kid in a gym loaded with talent. He pretty much can get any shot he wants at any time during the flow of the game. He is a multi-level scorer that can really light it up from deep. He is tough to contain off the bounce as he changes speeds well and keeps defenders off balance. He is a crafty scorer with touch that does damage in the paint as he can hit runners, floaters, and body his way through the defense on his way to the rim. He showed glimpses on the defensive end of the court of what he can be when he is fully locked in, as he showed aggressive on-ball defense and instincts in playing passing lanes. He is a listed combo guard with good positional size, and if he can get another 2-inches, there is no limit to who will be coming to see him.

Bryce Dawson Bryce Dawson 6'5" | SF Central | 2025 State AL (6’4/Wing/’25)

Bryce was one of the most well-rounded players that lived up to the hype surrounding him as he came into camp. He is an athletic wing with good positional size that produces in both the open court and the half-court. He has natural scoring instincts and sometimes makes scoring the rock look easy. He is a high riser that finishes above the rim and rebounds well as he goes up to secure the board. The scary thing about Bryce is that he is just getting started and is learning how to be ‘the man.’ When he fully embraces what he is capable of doing on the court and goes in game after game with the mindset to dominate, he will be one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2025 class. Bryce has a highly versatile game as he can adjust to whatever is needed at the moment. He is a lengthy wing that will be amongst the top of the 2025 rankings throughout the rest of his high school career.

Grant Hickey (6’5/PG | PF/’23)

Grant is a 6’5 PF that can facilitate the offense if needed. He showed his versatility throughout camp and was productive at facilitating and scoring at the PF position. He has a strong frame and was physical off the bounce when attacking the rim. He doesn’t need the ball in his hands much to be effective, as he knows how to get his teammates involved, he makes the most of his c&s shots, and when he does have the ball in his hands, he is aggressive off the bounce and attacking the rim. Defensively I was impressed with Grant as he can defend the post and out in space, as well as play with a lot of effort on and off the ball. There were times that Grant was not as aggressive as he could have been, as it appeared he was trying to feel his way through the 5v5 games. However, when he was in attack mode, he caused a lot of problems with his size and strength in the paint.

Tereis Benson (5’7/PG/’26)
Central-Phenix HS

Tereis is a small incoming freshman that did not back down from the stage. He was a difficult cover in iso situations as he kept getting to the paint off the bounce. He showed good decision-making skills and made on-time, on-target passes when needed. He is a twitchy guard with intriguing tools that know how to make plays for his teammates. Tereis does an excellent job of blowing by his man and getting into the lane to score or drop it off for an assist which he was doing all day at camp. Players were saying he was hard to guard because he was so small and had such a low center of gravity, but whatever it was, defenders had problems staying in front of Tereis. He is going to have to have a tenacious mindset pending how tall he will become because he will be a target of offensive game-planning. He is going to be an interesting player to keep an eye on over the next couple of years.

Ben Evans (6’3/G|F/’24)
Vestavia Hills HS

Ben was one of the most intriguing players in the camp with his athleticism and developing skills. He is extremely tough off the bounce as he gets downhill with force, and defenders learned quickly that guarding Ben is a physically challenging endeavor. He was a highlight reel in transition as he ran the floor hard and finished strong above the rim. Some would say that Ben is a player that has tools that make him indispensable. He can embrace major defensive responsibilities and score from behind the arc, which fits into what Vestavia does a lot, and as mentioned, he can score off the bounce. He will have to continue to become more of an efficient scorer from behind the arc, but he can keep the defense honest. He was a fierce competitor throughout camp on both ends, and I am looking forward to seeing Ben having a break-out year with the Rebels.

Jayden Scott Jayden Scott 5'9" | PG Park Crossing | 2024 State AL (N/A/PG/’24)
Park Crossing HS
Instagram: N/A
Twitter: @JayScott_1
Jayden proved at the camp that Park Crossing is in good hands at the PG spot. Jayden is a playmaker that is creative off the bounce, can shake his defender, and found himself living in the paint. He is a gifted scorer and passer, and just as productive as he is getting his own, he creates for his teammates just as well. He has an excellent isolation game, loaded with quirks that keep defenders guessing what’s next. Defenders had a challenging time staying in front of Jay, and his ability to put pressure on defenses off the bounce caused many problems with their help and rotation. Jayden could possibly be in the conversation of the top PGs in the state by the end of the season.

Kevin Kirk, Jr. (6’0/CG/’24)
Clay-Chalkville HS
Instagram: Kj_kirk_
Twitter: @KJKIrk4
Kevin is listed as a combo guard and effortlessly moves between the lead guard spot and the off-guard spot. In camp, he showed that he knows how to get downhill and attack the rim. There is something undeniable about Kevin’s game, and this may be the year that he can show just how gifted he is on the big stage with his high school team. He has competed in some top camps this summer, including the iBall With Terry Drake Basketball Elite Skills Camp, and he has held his own against some of the best talent in the state and across the country. He is an energy player, but at the same time, he is so much more than that, as he can score and facilitate and has a nice balance between the two. As long as Kevin stays within himself and does not get out of character, Clay will have a dependable guard in their backcourt that can provide leadership, facilitating, scoring, and passion.
