Zion Young Zion Young 6'2" | CG Life Prep | 2023 State KS – Zion Young Zion Young 6'2" | CG Life Prep | 2023 State KS the lefty previously at campus high school, will play his senior season at heights high school. What seems to be a well-needed move after heights guard TJ Williams TJ Williams 6'5" | SG Wichita Heights | 2024 State #176 Nation KS transfers to the sunrise elite team, zion will look to come to impose his will and try to lead this team to another state title run. Zion looks to be a lot stronger this year and more confident after battling an ankle injury, don’t be surprised if he taps into that potential we all have been waiting for. The strong lefty guard can finish with both hands at the rim and has shown in the summer he can knock it down consistently. Being able to get stops on the defensive end and turn those into transition points for him and his teammates will be the actual difference maker.
Nash Johnsen Nash Johnsen 6'7" | C Conway Springs | 2024 State KS – Johnsen has one of the most high IQ “bigs” you will see. Known for imposing his will on the low block and has recently added moves from there, he will look to spread the floor with his mid-range jumper he hits on a consistent basis. With his size, he blocks and alters a lot of shots at the rim making it extremely tough for opposing players to finish at the rim.
Javonne Glover Javonne Glover 6'3" | SF Northwest | 2023 KS – Glover is an under the radar athletic wing wherever he goes. He has the ability to make game-winning plays but gets overlooked because he does all the little stuff instead of the highlight reel. Javonne showed he can get out in transition and loves to finish above the rim every chance possible. His athletic ability allows him to be a huge asset on the defensive end. His long wingspan and active hands allow him to play the passing lanes.
Alan Hanna- Losing top players for maize such as Kyle Grill, Alan will look to make a statement this season by displaying his athleticism on a nightly basis and putting players on posters. Hanna can jump off of 1 foot or 2 feet at any given moment during the game so if you’re help side in a half-court set watch out! What throws people off is his ability to shoot the 3. He doesn’t hunt the 3 but his ability to knock them down when his team needs it the most will make teams honest when guarding him. The young sophomore will surprise you by his activity on the defensive end. He is very vocal on or off the court with his team about defensive rotations and energy.
Makaen Hastings Makaen Hastings 5'11" | PG Salina South | 2023 KS – Hastings has a set of handles and craftiest that you love to see as a fan of the game of basketball. Makaen has the ability to create plays off the bounce for himself or his teammates drawing a lot of attention to his style of play. Hastings is really good at scoring off the bounce which allows him to go score for his team when his time is called upon. Given the green light, I won’t be surprised if he lights it up for multiple 20-point nights this season. With his range, finishing ability, and getting to the paint when he wants to, he will score all over the court.
