Nick Dorn Nick Dorn 6'5" | SG JL Chambers | 2023 State NC – Team United
Dorn is one of the top sharpshooters in the state of North Carolina, ranking No. 33 currently in the 2023 class. He showcased his ability to score in a variety of ways on the grassroots scene with Team United and Anthony Morrow Elite this past spring and summer. He holds offers from Radford, Drexel, Brown and some other DII colleges heading into his senior year. He’ll be a feature name to keep an eye on in the JL Chambers High rotation in 2022-23.
Alston is a late-blooming big man that came on strong this grassroots season with Team Trezz . He’s got good length that he uses well to make plays around the rim on both ends of the floor. As he learns to do so with consistency, look for his stock to grow in the state. He has offers from North Carolina Central, Sam Houston State and Manhattan among some other mid-major college programs. He’ll be looked upon to play a big role in the Winston-Salem Christian frontcourt this upcoming season.
Avion Pinner Avion Pinner 6'9" | PF Concord Academy | 2023 State NC – Team Curry
Pinner is an emerging forward name that’s still on the board in the 2023 class with offers from UNC-Wilmington, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina and a few other mid-major programs as he looks to end his high school career with a bang. He was an indispensable utility guy in the Team Curry rotation given his ability to finish around the rim and alter shots defensively. Look for him to be a factor in Concord Academy’s frontcourt as they look to win another NCISAA title.
Cole Callaway Cole Callaway 6'4" | SG Lake Norman | 2023 State NC – Carolina Riptide
Callaway is a sharpshooter that’s really found his way among some of the top shooters in the 2023 class. He’s got the ability to operate off the bounce and has really come along as quite an active defender this grassroots season. Alma College, Taccoa Falls and Brevard College are a few of the colleges that have offered him. He’s set to turn some heads in 2022-23 with his ability to make winning plays at Lake Norman High.
Short is one of the more underrecruited names in the state though ranked No. 23 in the state currently. He’s still one of the most athletic prospects in the class and showcased his abilities with 11.1 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.7 apg and 1.8 spg with Garner Road on the 3SSB circuit this past grassroots season. As he shows off his all-around game with Farmville Central High, don’t be surprised if more schools pull the trigger on him as he holds offer from New Orleans, Mount Olive and Queens heading into his his final year.
