#15 Fred Lamar 2023 6'2 San Antonio Holmes High School, TX (San Antonio King Hoops 2023)

Fred is an aggressive finisher in the paint whose aggressiveness bleeds through into all aspects of his game. He is a high level rebounder at the guard position who loves to run the fast break and push the tempo after grabbing defensive rebounds. I loved his end to end speed and how he relentlessly attacked in the full court every time he touched the ball. He is a smart facilitator in the open court who always has his head up to make the right extra pass to set up his teammates. His lead passes have just the right touch on them to hit his teammates in stride. I would like to see him get more consistent with his shot off the bounce, and scoring in the mid-range and beyond the arc.

#14 Tyler Eguia 2023 6'0 Veterans Memorial High School (San Antonio)

Tyler is a sharp shooting guard who specializes in getting his shot off quick. He is great at getting set on the fast break and being an open passing option for his team. He has the ability to knock down shots from all three levels with ease, and even showed an ability to routinely knock down shots from the coveted fourth level of the floor. His ability to hit deep threes forces the defense to come out and focus on him 35 feet from the bucket. He punishes zone defense through his ability to get set from anywhere around the arc. Eugia has a high basketball IQ and it shows out on both ends of the floor. He is great at poking the ball free from ball handlers but specializes in reading the ball handlers eyes and taking away cross court passing opportunities.

#13 [player_tooltip player_id='1211064' first='Caden' last='Rizo'] 2023 6'2 Johnson High School

Caden is a sharp shooting guard who not only punishes defenses from beyond the arc, but locks up on the other end of the court as well. Every game he seems to knock down at least two threes and come up with three steals. His aggressiveness as an on ball defender makes his opponent uncomfortable with his ability to move his feet and have his active hands wreak havoc, poking the ball free or tipping passes in the passing lanes. Rizo will have to create even more off the bounce this year, and I am intrigued to see how he handles being the focal point of his team's offense. I would like to see him work on his willingness to take looks in the mid-range, he is a great set shooter right now, but defenses will key in on that and run him off the line.

#12 [player_tooltip player_id='1159092' first='Jackson' last='Johnston'] 2023 6'7 Kerrville Tivy High School

Jackson is a high level athlete who has recently been racking up division one offers in football to play wide receiver/ tight end at the next level, however he is still dominant on the hardwood. Last year he was voted to the 26-5A Second Team All District, through his athletic play on both ends of the court. He is great at wreaking havoc on the defensive end through deflections and blocks in the paint. He really jumps off the film through his athleticism and agility. He slides his feet to stay in front of guards and uses his length to tip passes and block shots. I would like to see him work on his ability to shoot from the mid-range and beyond the arc, he is a bit one dimensional now, but his athleticism is off the charts and is something that coaches should keep an eye on.

I would really like to see him work on his aggressiveness with a live dribble. There are not many kids in Texas who can keep up with his size and athleticism, especially as he goes to bull rush into the paint. He has all of the athletic tools to become a dominant player on both ends of the court if he continues to get more of that dog in him out on the court. I know it is always there on the gridiron, so hopefully it comes out his senior year more!

#11 [player_tooltip player_id='1145204' first='Jaylen' last='Gardner'] 2023 6'4 TMI Episcopal

Jaylen is an athletic freak who specializes in creating separation with a live dribble and getting to the rim with ferocity. Gardner is a dual sport athlete with offers to UTSA in football as a wide receiver, and when you see him step on the court it is not hard to find out why. The 6'4 athlete has incredible end to end speed which allows him to fly around the court and wreak havoc on both ends of the floor. He is great at getting underneath a defender's skin by making them work as they push the ball up the court, another testament to Coach Bruce Bowen's teachings. Gardner is a special athlete, and whatever path he chooses in the future should bring tremendous success to him and his organization.
