The talent was stacked in Kansas City for the Prep Hoops NEXT National Championship. Each division was full of talented prospects and teams that played extremely well together. I spent some time focused on the 11U teams and narrowed down the athletes who stood out most over the weekend. Below are a few of the standouts and what they brought to the court in Kansas City.
Kaimen Robinson | Tulsa Hawks
An electrifying paint presence for Tulsa Hawks. His teammates did a great job finding him on the floor. He extended possessions offensively. An “ice in veins” type of prospect.
Micah Nitafan | ABC Spotlight
Nitafan is a shifty guard who can break his man down off the dribble more than not. He has a really good balance that allows him to pull at any moment, he also wields a soft floater when getting into the paint. Nitafan was a menace in full-court pressure that made him a 2-way impact.
Adrian Czekaj | Kessel Heat
The Kessel Heat big man was dominating inside and out. His ability to extend offensive possessions was a difference-maker. His mobility and hustle on the defensive boards were impressive as well.
Carmelo Mason | ABC Spotlight
Mason has a smooth disposition on the floor. He’s a vocal leader and brings a presence and confidence to ABC Spotlight.
Christian Hernandez | AAO Flight Elite
Hernandez is a heady guard who has great pace. He stretched the floor for AAO Flight Elite. He plays with great rhythm and showed glimpses of being a playmaker.
