Here is part 5 of standouts from the NEPSAC Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id="1477867" first="Mykolas" last="Ivanauskas"], Tilton, Class 2023, HT 6’8, Position PF

Mykolas is a stretch power forward. When I saw him play in the showcases, I saw a few of his skills on display. His ability to space the floor at 6’8 was apparent, when I saw him knock down a few spot up three pointers. He forced the opposing team’s big man out of the paint, and to guard him on the perimeter. His ability to run the floor, and finish above the rim was on display, when he had a nice fast break dunk. Maykolas also had a nice play in the half court when he took his defender off the dribble to score. Mykolas is a long athletic player, with a good skill set, to match his size.

Alan Mashensky, Choate Rosemary Hall, HT 6’7, Position PF, Class 2023

First thing I noticed when I saw Alan play was, he is built like a division 1 college level player. He has a strong frame, and can power through defenders in the post. He is a physical player, and was always fighting for rebounds. He is able to control his body well, and in the showcases, he showed his soft touch around the rim, finishing some tough layups. He also didn’t force shots up when he was pressured on the block, as he did a nice job a few time finding the open teammate for a layup or three pointer. Alan isn’t just a rim protector, as I even saw him step outside the paint and knock down a three. I think Alan is either a mid major division 1 prospect, or a high level division 3 prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1489302" first="John" last="Brigham"], Dexter Southfield, HT 6’9, Position C, Class 2024

Brigham is a big man, who has good hands around the rim. He has a big frame, and uses his size to his advantage. In the showcases he showed his post skills, with a few nice finishes back to the basket. He also showed his tough hook shot. He was very aggressive on the rebounds, and always followed his shot. He had a couple second chance put backs off rebounds. He was in good position down low for much of the games I saw. Also he knocked down a few mid range jumpers, showing his overall skill set. On defense he was very good at coming from the weak side to help stop the drives in the lane. He didn’t foul, and played good straight up defense, and was between his man and the basket.

Makaih Williams, Bridgeton, Class 2023, Position PG,

Makaih is a lighting quick point guard. He plays with high energy. He showed his ability to be a scorer, and his ability to get his teammates involved. He did a good job running the offense, and was able to beat his defender off the dribble to get to the basket a few times. He worked hard, and never looked tired during the showcases.

Nate Bledsoe, Cushing Academy, HT 6’4, Position CG, Class 2023

Nate might be one of the more underrated prospects in the area. It’s only a matter of time before more coaches take notice. Nate is a pure, and deluxe scorer. He can score at all three levels, and is always in attack mode. He is a very high level three point shooter, and has long range. He really is fundamentally sound, and understands the game well. When his shot isn’t falling, he can attack the basket, play off the ball, and also sets his teammates up. Nate might not be the most flashy player at times, but does everything so smooth. Nate also brings lots of energy to his team, and takes a good amount of charges. These past weekends at the NEPSAC Showcases, Nate was definitely able to raise his stock.
