<p>Alvin Brooks and his coaching staffs are building something special in Beaumont. Brooks and staff filled the gym with elite state  prospects with names like [player_tooltip player_id="787367" first="Wesley" last="Yates"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1125964" first="Dink" last="Pate"]; Players with committable offers from LU such as [player_tooltip player_id="1486149" first="Tres" last="Luzey"] and A.J. Bates showed face competing amongst fellow athletes just wanting to get their name out. Amongst some of the state best players, some new faces emerge and some lost their baby face.</p> <p><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">[player_tooltip player_id="1225694" first="Shelton" last="Henderson"] 6’6 Class of 2025</span></p> <p>How the famous saying goes? BUY THE STOCK NOW ! Henderson coming off a stellar freshman season, and seem like the best is yet to come. Put somebody smaller on him, they’re getting bullied the perimeter or or down low. Handles the ball well with pressure keeping his composure calm. His game is simple taking what the defense gives him. When the camp ended Shelton walked away with an offer.</p> <p data-wp-editing="1">Kai’Ree Murray 6’2 Class of 2023</p> <p>Been following Murray since AAU started and one thing for certain is he can bring the crowd to their feet. Murray displayed defensive toughness guardi<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/DSC_8467-2.jpg"><img class="wp-image-1498479 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/DSC_8467-2-300x277.jpg" alt="" width="76" height="70" /></a>ng the best player on each team when the game started. The drills gave him a chance to showcase his athletic ability. Catch and shoot guard from the three, but can knock down the one-dribble pull up in the mid-range. Murray shut down the dunk contest clearly jumping over [player_tooltip player_id="1125964" first="Dink" last="Pate"]. Expect the buzz to grow this season.</p> <p>Bryce Smith 6’ Class of 2023<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2762.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-1499762" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2762-300x280.jpg" alt="" width="92" height="86" /></a></p> <p>Smith displayed shot making abilities throughout the camp. Guard with a quick first step to get by his defender. Relentless on the offensive end attacking the basket, and like to suffocate ball handlers.</p> <p>Quasim Boyd 5’11 Class of 2024<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2741.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-1499748" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2741-280x300.jpg" alt="" width="62" height="66" /></a></p> <p>Boyd showed by Dickinson staff trusted him as a sophomore. Boyd was knocking down shots offensively, and tough on-ball defense. Have a couple crafty tools in his bag when finishing in the air. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2739.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-1499745" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2739-300x267.jpg" alt="" width="68" height="61" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="1217802" first="Kayde" last="Dotson"] 6’2 Class of 2024</p> <p>You can tell his confidence was high representing his city and the 4-0-9 will be proud. Dotson showcase his pull-up game from the three, anytime his defender when under the screen with no good hedge the ball is going up. His leadership skills were displayed when he directed players, signaled for the big to set a pick once the spacing is proper.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1223821" first="Cameren" last="Paul"] Class of 2025 6’6<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Cameron-Paul.jpg"><img class="wp-image-1029416 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Cameron-Paul-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="50" height="75" /></a></p> <p>Paul is a bucket-getter. Last game of the day Paul had spurts of scoring 3 consecutive offensive possession. Can knock down shots off the dribble in isolation play. Paul lets the play develop before making his move to score. </p> <p>Logan Alexander Class of 2024 6’8<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/IMG_2761-2.jpg"><img class="wp-image-1499731 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/IMG_2761-2-179x300.jpg" alt="" width="44" height="74" /></a></p> <p>The long body frame of Alexander will be too much to handle once the muscle develops. He already have the mindset to dunk everything around the rim. Because of wingspan he makes guards think twice before shooting in the paint. High points the ball of rebounds</p> <p> Anthony Bates Jr 6’2 Class of 2024<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/09/62-Anthony-Bates-Jr..jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-1294739" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/09/62-Anthony-Bates-Jr.-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="98" height="65" /></a></p> <p>Bates displayed his point guard IQ finding the hot man, passing the ball up the floor, and making the right reads. His leadership skills at the camp impressed me the most encouraging teammates consistently.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> [caption id="attachment_1499825" align="alignleft" width="63"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2891.jpg"><img class=" wp-image-1499825" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/07/IMG_2891-300x296.jpg" alt="" width="63" height="62" /></a> Photo: Michael Timmons, <a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/TexasHoopsGASO/status/1510688617647247377?cxt=HHwWosC40ebShfcpAAAA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GASO</a>[/caption] <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1358194" first="Jamal" last="Chretien"] II 6’3 Class of 2025</p> <p>Chretien was getting after it knocking down shots, and being selective with his jumpshots on and off the dribble. He knows how to use the screen to get free to get his shot off. Lamar offered Chretien after the camp.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1486149" first="Tres" last="Luzey"] 6’1 Class of 2024</p> <p>L<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/IMG_1519.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-1498496" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/IMG_1519-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="104" height="69" /></a>uzey pure shot was on display as some shots go in without making a sound. Tres did well passing the ball up the floor, and finding the open man. </p>
