The event culminated in the Spring and Summer long circuit, which featured teams from Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. After 9 stops, the circuit concluded in Seal Beach California. The 15U title was taken home by Swoosh Elite, Rancho Elite took home 16U honors and Roots Academy hoisted the 17U trophy. The event was home to several sharpshooters. Here’s a look at some of the top Snipers from the event.
Isaiah Batista 6’2 SG Taylor Made Prep 2023 – Good size catch and shoot guy. He has a textbook form and gets good lift on his shot. Batista did the majority of his damage spotting up, however showed the ability to shoot it coming off screens as well.
Mason Juergens 6’1 SG Roots Academy 2023 (featured image) – Juergens hit some clutch shots for the 17U champs. His ability to space the floor was valuable and he showed a good quick release when shooting the ball in catch-and-shoot action. His shooting helped Roots take home the 17U crown.
Justin Garcia Justin Garcia 5'11" | CG Campo Verde | 2023 State AZ 5’11 SG Arizona Gremlins 2025 – Garcia is a versatile shooter who had no problem making shots off the bounce and in catch-and-shoot action. He has a good pullup, allowing him to stop on a dime and change the scoreboard from behind the arc. Has a quick release and a knack for making shots over closing defenders.
Dominick Martinez 6’1 PG D1 New Mexico 2025 – Martinez is definitely a volume shooter, however, you have to give him credit for being a shooter. He likes to shoot it off the bounce but is also accurate when shooting pull-ups. Martinez used good lift to knock down his shot over defenders.
Mateo Trujillo 5’11 PG LA Elite 2025 – Trujillo combines deadly shooting with good fundamentals. He was accurate in catch-and-shoot action from the wings. Later he combined his deep shooting threat with the ability to show and go, using pump fakes to lift defenders before going around them to get off his accurate jumper.
Jlyes Lear 6’4 SG Rancho Elite 2024 – When you combine his shot-making, range, and degree of difficulty, Lear was one of the best shooters at the tournament. He hit a late-game bomb to send the game against Coastal into overtime, keeping RE’s championship hopes alive. Throughout the tournament, he showed a consistent release and accuracy from the outside.
Taye Hollins 6’2 SG Sac Hoyas 2023 – Corner shooting specialist. It seemed like Hollins always found himself open on the baseline and he made the most of it nailing several corner threes. He has a remarkably quick release and was accurate in catch-and-shoot situations.
Zane Goldman 6’0 SG Coastal Elite 2023 – Goldman has been one of the most consistent shooters on the circuit. The sniper sprayed from all over the court and I always felt as if he got stronger as the game went on. He knocked down two second-half trey’s in the Semifinal game against Roots.
Cameron Wood 6’4 SF D1 Southern Cal 2023 – Wood came up clutch in the opening round, knocking down consecutive late-game threes to help D1 advance. The wing shooter has a solid release and does a good job of getting his work done early. He was at his best when knocking down catch and shoot threes from the corners.
