The second Live Period is here and there is going to be big time hoops action going down at Hyvee arena at the Hardwood Classic: Sunflower Showcase.

Today we will have a comprehensive list of some sleepers college coaches should be taking a good look at this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="1268859" first="Cade" last="Burdette"], 5’11 G, 810 Varsity Elite Blue: Big time shooter of the basketball in multiple facets from different areas around the arc. Is also deceptively fast and can really get guys to fly by on closeouts and then punish teams off the shot fake dribble drive. Always has the motor running on the floor on both ends which leads him to making a ton of winning basketball plays. His three point shot making is where he can really stand out amongst the pack.

[player_tooltip player_id="1200613" first="Parker" last="Leeds"], 6’1 PG, SSA Elite 2023 Black: A stat stuffer as a point guard and impacts the game without having to score large sums of points. A great rebounder as a point guard, and is a terrific kick ahead passer to guys running their lanes in transition. Always stays poised on the floor and doesn’t let one mistake snowball. Can knock down open threes in big spots but on offensive excels as a slasher.

Joseph Paige, 6’5 F, 810 Varsity Elite Blue: Paige would be an ideal small ball four man as he is great around the perimeter as a catch and shoot three player with some size. The trailer three game is there, picking and popping is there, and spotting up as his teammates drive the ball is there as well. Good rebounder on the defensive end and is a solid defender around the paint. Very smart passer and limits his turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1407806" first="Cameron" last="Doss"], 5’11 PG, 810 Varsity Elite Blue: An athletic point guard who is great at the point of attack. Uses a great change of pace and array of dribble moves to get to the rim and is a tough finisher around the rim. Big time scoring guard with an arsenal of finishes in the middle area and paint. Doss is a solid defender as well especially as a gap defender and active hands to create steals. Makes open shots off the catch or off the bounce as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1212149" first="Jace" last="Steinmetz"], 6’3 SG, SSA Elite 2023 Black: Shot over 53% from three in the last grassroots weekend attempting over 34 shots from distance in four games. A big time shot maker and great size at the two guard spot. Really has become a good passer two and has the vision and length to pass around and over defenders from the perimeters to hit guys coming off screens or cutters. Growing as a slasher as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1504788" first="Jack" last="Lauer"], 6’1 G, SSA Elite 2023 White: A really strong guard who continues to expand his game. A lethal knockdown shooter off the catch and the confidence to let them fly even against tough contests and still shoots it at a good clip. Plays with a ton of energy and pace on the floor and has expanded his offensive game to include attacks off shot fakes and get to the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="1300861" first="Quentin" last="Adams"], 5’9 PG, Kansas 94x50: A blur on the court with the ball in his hands and guarding the ball on the defensive end of the floor. Quickness is the name of his game and really creates advantages for himself and teammates getting by the primary defender off the dribble and getting downhill. Nice playmaker off the dribble and has a good package of finishes in the paint. Adams is a good on ball defender and can guard all 94 feet with effectiveness.

Kale Hammerschmidt, 5’9 PG, PAC Gold: Is a hardnosed point guard on both ends of the floor. Great intangibles from the position; getting guys into their spots, setting the tone with his on ball defense, and is a good leader in the back court. Makes the right passes at the right times, can hit open shots, and is effective in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="1080203" first="Ryle" last="Riddlesperger"], 6’1 G, WKE Blue: Continues to get better at the point guard position throughout the grassroots season, but Riddlesperger’s top tier three point shooting ability really allows him to be an effective combo guard moving forward and at the next level. Can really heat up in a hurry once he sees one go down and has plus range from three. His passing ability is underrated and has solid court vision up the floor and hitting guys in transition for easy buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id="1182787" first="Te’Jon" last="McDaniel"], 6’3 W, PGU Hoops 2023 (Pictured): A long and athletic combo guard/wing prospect with a ton of upside. Does a great job in the downhill game getting to the rim and touching paint and has the explosiveness to get up to the rim and finish over guys with authority. Has a smooth pull up jumper game as well from the mid range and three point lines. Long arms helps him on defense as well and he can get steals that lead to break outs.
