The Prep Hoops Grit Region circuit has officially wrapped up with new champions crowned. Throughout this past weekend, there were multiple big time performances from our Indiana prospects at all age groups which should come as no surprise with how many talented in-state players participate in the Grit Region. Today, we take a look at some 2023 guard evaluations.

Dylan Beverly – 6’6 PF - Franklin Community - Indiana Elite Side 2023: Beverly is a power forward with natural athletic ability and legit size. Pretty versatile, especially on the defensive end where he guarded both the post and wing. Had a few nice steal and fastbreak scores. Also a nice shot blocker as well.

Wesley Reeves – 6’4 SF – Mooresville - Indiana Elite Side 2023: Reeves is a long wing that plays with a good motor. Scores pretty well and even though he has an awkward looking shot, he is effective 15ft and out. He is a solid finisher around the rim as well. Good showing from him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1273006" first="Patrick" last="Schott"] – 6’5 PF/C - Perry Meridian – Indiana Elite Swish 2023: Schott’s massive size will always be so impressive because this guy is just a double-double machine. He took away the post on the defensive end and rebounded very well. The one knock I have for Schott is that he just needs to be a little meaner at times because if he can get that figured out, he can truly be unstoppable.

[player_tooltip player_id="935722" first="Mason" last="Jones"] – 6’7 PF – Valparaiso – Team GRIII 2023 Elite (Ball State commit): The recent Ball State commit was again his high motor self here making plays all over the floor. He was a stud on defense, and he also shot the ball very well, something he has improved on greatly. Ball State is getting a steal with Jones.

[player_tooltip player_id="814532" first="Brandon" last="Trilli"] – 6’5 SF – Munster - Team GRIII 2023 Elite: Trilli was a force on glass in the game I watched of his. The standout part of his game however, was how well he shot the ball and now I can firmly say his range is starting to really expand. He has always been in kind of awkward spot due to his size but as long as he is scoring and rebounding, he can contribute. Still one of the best players left on the board in the 2023 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="868239" first="Cooper" last="Farrall"] – 6’6 SF - Culver Academy - Team GRIII 2023 Elite: Farrall was easily one of the top scorers this entire weekend. Scored at all three levels and thought his baseline work was a standout area here. Made some good cuts off the ball and his work at the rim was real solid. Colleges love playmakers at the wing and that is what Farrall is. Also one of the best available players in the 2023 class.

Divine Adeyanju – 6’6 PF - West Lafayette – INB Elite 2023: Adeyanju is a newer player that has risen his stock as of late. First time I had seen him in person and realized how much of a force he is at the rim. Great shot blocking ability and finishes so strong. Just a tad raw but has all the physical tools.

[player_tooltip player_id="935728" first="Dylan" last="Watson"] – 6’10 PF/C – Castle - EG10 2023: Watson is a true post with legit size. Overall, he was solid on both ends. Defensively, he did a great job moving and switching off and protecting the rim. Offensively, he had few nice finishes including a creative drive from the wing which resulted in a And1. Just needs to remember to keep moving on offense not being so glued in one area.

[player_tooltip player_id="1273740" first="Shaun" last="Arnold"] – 6’5 SF – Ben Davis – EG10 2023: Arnold is a bigger sized wing that played well off the ball. Made good cuts and finished well through contact. Was one of the better defenders on EG10 and made a bunch of stops. Also was excellent finishing through contact on offense.
