Prep Hoops Live Atlanta was a big time event that produced some impactful performances, stock risers, and guys putting a stamp on their status as some of the best hoopers in their area. Let’s take a look at some of our final notes from across the tournament.

Shot Makers

[player_tooltip player_id="1461440" first="Logan" last="Burnett"], 6’2 Guard, SSA Elite Black, 2024 (Pictured): Started off hot at the event going for 19 in the opener really getting to his spots off the bounce with ease and confidence and does a great job of getting lift on his jumper. Shot it at a high clip from the 3 and made timely shots throughout the tournament. Continues to get better and more confident in his scoring as the minutes tick on.

[player_tooltip player_id="1385264" first="Isaiah" last="Mahal"], 6’2 CG, Minnesota Heat, 2025: A long guard with a great looking jumper from distance and is a savvy scorer slashing into the painted area especially in transition. Did a good job in the games I watched coming off a variety of screens and catching it in attack mode looking for his shot off the catch or using a really long first dribble to push away from trail guys leading into a nice middle area game with floaters and pull ups. High IQ basketball player overall.

Forwards to Watch

[player_tooltip player_id="1270292" first="Bryce" last="Beisner"], 6’6 F, SSA Elite Black, 2024: Did a really good job of protecting the painted area throughout the weekend with some timely shot blocking, walling up defenders, and rotating over to stop drives. Had a really nice chase down block in transition that was a highlight staple of his weekend. As he continues to get stronger will become even better on that end and be a staple defender wherever he plays. Has a versatile offensive game with quick movements and soft touch.

[player_tooltip player_id="1455666" first="Peyton" last="Byrd"], 6’6 F, EG10 Red, 2024: A really good stretch 4 that was lethal pulling his man away from the rim with his ability to knock down shots off the catch. Could screen and replace and catch and fire, come off screens himself, had the length to shoot over long defenders, and had a nice counter shot fake game as well. Rebounded it at a high level in the game I watched and really made the right read and play on multiple occasions.

Other Player Standout

Cole Wilcek, 6’4, Minnesota Fury Wilde, 2025: A tough nosed forward/wing player that does a little bit of everything that contributes to winning. Is a big time screen setter, turns a high percentage of paint opportunities into points, creates extra possessions for his team, and is a very smart passer of the basketball. He is a big time rebounder on both ends of the floor.
