Prep Hoops NorCal just returned from The Section 7 in Arizona. NorCal’s best was on display at this event. We’ll get to them in a later article. We’re always looking to bring exposure to new players or prospects we haven’t seen lately. Here’s some prospects that fit here.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119263" first="Anthony" last="Lacy"] 6’5 2024 Forward of Oakland HS.

He’s a long armed active post player that is making good strides as a player. He’s hitting his jumper around the free throw area.. He’s the man in the middle for Oakland High. He has the length, and the energy to disrupt in the post. He boxes out well, and goes after rebounds out of his space on both ends. He goes up high off two feet for dunks, and finishes around the rim. He runs the court. He’s an improving prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1254108" first="Christian" last="Wise"] 6’6 2023 PF of Archbishop Riordan HS.

Wise is a strong player with good bounce. He has the body to be a force in the paint at this level. He has some improving to do with his post foot work but he can score. Once he figures out the right moves that work for him, he’ll be hard to guard. He has a paint jumper, boxes out well, and can dominate the boards with rebounds and put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380770" first="Tyler" last="Bergren"] 5’7 2024 PG of Campolindo HS.

The new floor general for Campo. He’s a tough, and feisty competitor that small guards needs to have on the court. He’s always pushing, and looking keeping pressure on the defense. He attacks the gaps, collapse defenses on the penetration. He knows where his shooters are on the penetration kick, he had bounce passes, and dump offs into the post. He handles ball pressure, makes good long passes up court.

[player_tooltip player_id="1255643" first="Micah" last="Hobson"] 6’5 2023 Wing of Capital Christian HS.

Hobson looks good running the court in transition. The solid body wing had strong finishes playing through contact, and finishing in the paint area. He hit a couple of transition 3’s., and on the catch. He has the footspeed and the strength to guard multiple positions on the court. He’ll get his share of rebounds. We’ll see more of him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380767" first="Evan" last="Wells"] 6’6 2023 Forward of De La Salle HS.

Wells was a key contributor for the Spartans, especially in the title game. He knocked down big shots, he hit three big 3’s in the corner during the title game with under a minute remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. He shows a lot of confidence shooting his shot. We’ll see more of him.

[player_tooltip player_id="950925" first="Blake" last="Hudson"] 6’3 2023 Guard of Daugherty Valley HS.

The transfer from St. Mary’s fits right in with this up-tempo group. He’s a guard with strength, and is explosive with hops to throw one down if there’s an opening. He’s another handler in the open court, and transition. He attacks the paint hard, finishes through contact. He has a floater, and touch around the rim. He’ll help this team on the boards, and he can defend multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id="950894" first="Jordan" last="Bobo"] 6’7 or 6’8 2023 W/F of Grant Union HS.

Bobo’s game is evolving, if he stays focused he could be the best kept secret in NorCal. He has a basketball body, and frame to add more strength, and muscle. He could be still growing? He has stretch 4 written all over him. He’s always preferred playing on the perimeter. His comfort and skill set away from the basket continues to improve. He can knock down the 3 at times. He can dominate in the post at this level if he decides to. He’s a double double guy at this level. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List.
