Lee County Guard Malachi Mclean will be a name to watch in the Harnett County area as he completed his junior season averaging over 20 points per contest and showcasing his ability to knock down three-point shots at a high level. This season we are fully expecting to see him scoring the ball from multiple levels and taking on the leadership role for his team which should only boost his recruitment.
Trinity Christian Wing/Forward Steven Lassiter Steven Lassiter 6'6" | PF The Burlington School | 2023 State NC was a bright spot for his TCS squad that struggled last season, putting up some big time scoring and rebounding numbers with an average of 20 Points and 7 Rebounds per game. He has the size at 6’6, ability to play on the wing offensively and the upside to add to his game that college coaches should love.
Richmond County Guard Dakota Chavis Dakota Chavis 6'0" | SG Richmond Senior | 2023 State NC often gets overlooked because he’s not necessarily one of the main offensive options on his team, but he has shown that he understands how to win games and has plenty of the tools to be a Guard on the college level. He’s a solid shooter from three-point range, defends well without fouling, has good court vision and is an unselfish player.
Bull City Prep Forward Abraham Driver put together some outstanding showings during the spring and summer which should transition well into the high school season. He loos comfortable playing with his back to the basket but is just as good in face up situations from the short corner.
New Life Christian Guard Malachi Travis Malachi Travis 6'2" | CG New Life Christian | 2023 State NC will be a player to keep a close eye on over the next few months and into the high school season. He’s transitioned from being a SG to a player that can slide over and play the PG spot just as well which should only help his recruitment. He is a knock down shooter from three-point land, much improved ballhandler and has good passing skills/vision.
71st HS Forward Jared Davis Jared Davis 6'5" | PF Seventy-First | 2023 State NC was a huge part of the reason that their team was able to make a run at a state championship last season. He may be undersized in the post, but he outworks and outmuscles taller opponents to make plays inside the paint but can also score the ball from midrange and three-point land. There is plenty to like about the 6’4/6’5 Forward, and colleges should begin to take a closer look at him.
