<p>Prep Hoops Missouri spent the weekend attending the Midwest Showcase, which was held at Staley High in Kansas City. We would like to thank the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association for putting on a great event. We will be doing team evals throughout the week on the players from Missouri in the showcase. Here is a look at the players on Missouri Team 1.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/09/486D8AB7-A710-49A7-987A-3CE9EEB3FFCA.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1286991" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/09/486D8AB7-A710-49A7-987A-3CE9EEB3FFCA-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1419857" first="Aaron" last="Rowe"] (Father Tolton): The gifted 6’2" 2025 point guard was very fluid throughout the weekend and he made things look very easy at times. He displayed excellent burst in getting to the basket or stopping on the dime to unleash his potent mid-range jumper. He’s pushing the ball in transition, yet he can accelerate into another gear on his way to the basket.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/6D13FD23-BDEC-4AA5-9068-750A57585E17.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1487677" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/6D13FD23-BDEC-4AA5-9068-750A57585E17-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070087" first="Kael" last="Combs"] (Nixa): The 6’4" 2023 lefty shooting guard did an excellent job of picking his spots when to display his all-around game and athleticism. He did a nice job moving without the basketball and scoring on his off-ball cuts. He was knocking down mid-range jumpers and hitting the 3-pointer in transition. He could go coast-to-coast in transition with ease.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/3480A79F-245A-40D9-A7EF-C67E9CFAC28E.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1489659" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/3480A79F-245A-40D9-A7EF-C67E9CFAC28E-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a><br /> [player_tooltip player_id="1161818" first="Travis" last="Green III"] (Whitfield): The 6’0" 2024 guard plays much bigger than his actual size with his active motor and ability to attack at every opportunity. He’s a mid-range monster with his ability to stop and pop from the 12-15 foot area. He can get into the lane and score against defenders, regardless of their size. His finishing ability is excellent.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/1DB56FCA-194D-4E30-949C-8EFFDAADAB74.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1487675" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/1DB56FCA-194D-4E30-949C-8EFFDAADAB74-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1170197" first="Darin" last="Conley"] (Pembroke Hill): The 6’5" 225-pound 2023 forward known as "Diesel" was one of the top rebounders that I watched at the camp. While most players look to shoot the ball in a showcase format, he did what he does best, which is rebound, rebound and rebound some more. He was getting out of his area at both ends to corral boards. I also liked how he hustled down the court on rim runs throughout the weekend. Great energy.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/CCAD9482-62FA-4AE4-9152-B70FFCE1E233.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1489661" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/CCAD9482-62FA-4AE4-9152-B70FFCE1E233-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1271795" first="Oliver" last="Kokal"] (Parkway Central): The 6’5" 2024 is a long, rangy wing player who was impressive at the showcase. He handles the ball well and he has excellent footwork, whether he’s scoring in the lane or knocking down step-back jumpers from the perimeter. He has good athleticism and he has a long stride to the basket when he is on the attack. He also has an aggressive streak when it comes to attacking the offensive boards.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/64D80651-A5E3-46C4-960B-FF44297AF452.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1486743" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/64D80651-A5E3-46C4-960B-FF44297AF452-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070113" first="Jack" last="Steinbach"] (Ladue): The 6’0" 2023 point guard is a confident floor leader with solid handles and the ability to run the pick-and-roll very well. He has solid toughness with the ball against pressure defense and he can knock down the perimeter shot. In one game during the morning session on Saturday, he made four 3-pointers and sparked his team to a victory.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/0AB25740-F15A-4E7B-BFBE-37A0477CD66A.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1218500" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/0AB25740-F15A-4E7B-BFBE-37A0477CD66A-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1162361" first="DJ" last="Long"] (Mexico): A 5’11" 2024 point guard with good quickness and a tremendous burst to get to the basket. He also has an impressive first step to get by defenders in either direction, which leads to his ability to finish. He is very fearless when he is on the attack. He compliments his dribble penetration with his ability to knock down high-arching 3-pointers.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/94A01660-D9EF-4F1F-8A07-5489EE1DEFB5.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1489662" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/06/94A01660-D9EF-4F1F-8A07-5489EE1DEFB5-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a><br /> [player_tooltip player_id="1160835" first="Josh" last="Salinas"] (Lee’s Summit West): A 6’0" 2024 point guard who is physically strong and played a very unselfish game during the weekend. He was consistently feeding teammates for buckets and he did a good job of passing up his own good shot to get the ball to a someone with an even better shot. He has good speed and he is a capable shooter from 3-point distance.</p>
