Charleston: The Class 3 state champion Bluejays have all of their pieces in place for another great season in 2023. The top scorer is 6’1" 2025 PJ Farmer, who was getting major buckets throughout the weekend. The 2023 duo of 6’3" [player_tooltip player_id="1070112" first="Rico" last="Coleman"] and 6’1" [player_tooltip player_id="1282341" first="Trey" last="Stanback"] are veteran talents while 6’1" 2024 Koterrion Owens really excels inside. Almareion Williams is another solid guard who can handle the ball and shoot.

Webster Groves: The Class 5 state champions will put another talented unit on the court again. [player_tooltip player_id="1259025" first="Iziah" last="Purvey"], the versatile 6’4" 2024 forward, provided buckets from everywhere all weekend. 6’1" 2023 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1269936" first="CJ" last="Lang"] is an all-purpose floor leader who will lead the team while 2023 guards [player_tooltip player_id="1440700" first="Jalen" last="Purvey"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1440701" first="Rodney" last="Trevino"] Jr. displayed some offensive chops.

Jefferson City: The Jays’ future looks bright with their young and talented nucleus. They are led by 5’10" 2023 guard [player_tooltip player_id="1440456" first="Steve" last="Samuels"], who is a very good two-way performer. There is plenty of talent in the backcourt with 5’11" 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1422771" first="Exavier" last="Wilson"], 5’9" 2025 Judah Harris and 6’1" 2026 Rowen Buffington in the mix. 6’2" 2023 Tripp Maassen can shoot it from deep. McCluer North: The Stars were the surprise team of the weekend as they won the championship in the Beyond Division. The Stars were small, but they are quick and played with a lot of grit on the defensive end. They were led by 5’8" 2023 point guard Simon Johnson and 6’2" 2023 forward Rah’Shod Burns. They have a future standout on the horizon in 6’0" 2025 guard Harrison Bailey-Howard, who is a potent scorer and playmaker.

A pair of versatile swingmen who I also liked were 6’3" 2023 Nehemiah Reedus and 6’4" 2024 Antoine Franklin. 6’2" 2023 guard Mario Slaughter is a solid all-purpose performer.

Father Tolton: The Trailblazers were missing a few key players, but they still fielded a talented group, led by excellent 6’3" 2025 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1419857" first="Aaron" last="Rowe"] and 6’9" 2023 post player [player_tooltip player_id="1070096" first="Evens" last="Appolon"]. Rowe has smooth handles and a nice mid-range game while Appolon was a force in the paint all weekend. 6’5" 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1160819" first="Javar" last="Galbreath"] is a transfer from Fulton who will help the inside game while 6’4" 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1425357" first="Blake" last="Pingeton"] can hit the 3-pointer.
