Top shooting guards from the Hard Work Region:

[player_tooltip player_id="1043749" first="Emmett" last="Lawton"] -- Team 1848 -- 2023

Lawton is a dead-eye shooter who opposing teams can’t afford to leave open. Because when he gets off a clean look, the shot normally falls. Lawton is no doubt one of the best shooters in Wisconsin, but he is also a complete player. He plays very hard on defense and is a great rebounder and passer. Look for college programs to get involved in Lawton’s recruitment soon.

Caden Wilkins -- Iowa Barnstormers -- 2024

Wilkins is the full package. He can do it all. The shooting guard is the top ranked prospect in Iowa’s 2024 class. After watching him play this past spring, it is very easy to see why. Wilkins is a dynamic three level scorer, tremendous athlete, and great on-ball defender. It won’t be too long before top college programs start to offer scholarships to the Iowa SG.

Keegan Vankauwenberg -- Wisconsin Crusaders -- 2025

Vankauwenberg is a player to keep an eye on in the state of Wisconsin. He is an impressive shooter and scorer. With one of the better shooting strokes in the state, the shooting guard is able to get to his spots and score pretty much whenever he wants. Playing with a great Kaukauna squad during the winter season should help Vankauwenberg improve. Look for the SG to put up big numbers this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048689" first="Anthony" last="Doppler"] -- North Dakota Phenom -- 2023

Doppler had a huge spring and was one of the biggest overall stock risers. When the shooting guard gets hot from deep, he can put up some pretty amazing stat lines. As a scorer, Doppler is very dangerous. He simply knows how to get difficult shots to fall. After his great play, Doppler was able to snag a Division One scholarship offer. Many more should be on the way if he continues to play well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1288705" first="Micah" last="Strand"] -- Northstar Titans -- 2024

In Nebraska at Buckets In The Big Red, Strand just couldn’t miss. He was pulling up from way down town and drilling tough shots. All great shooters have something in common: They are tremendous moving without the ball. This goes for Strand, as the shooting guard never stops moving on offense. He is always working extremely hard to try and get an open shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="981201" first="Levi" last="Birkholz"] -- Wisconsin Crusaders -- 2023

You will be hard pressed to find a glaring weakness in Birkholz’s game. The Wisconsin Crusaders shooting guard is so good everywhere. You want a guy that can go get you a bucket in crunch time? Birkholz has already proven that the big moment doesn’t faze him at all. Want somebody to play lockdown defense? Birkholz is strong, physical, and fast on the defensive end. Want a prospect to make big-time plays? Birkholz is capable of throwing down some huge dunks in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050246" first="Darik" last="Dissette"] -- North Dakota Phenom -- 2023

Dissette was one of the top prospects on the Prep Hoops Circuit this past spring, regardless of position. The shooting guard is a playmaker on both ends of the court. He is capable of getting buckets and locking down the opposing squad’s top scorer. He holds a couple of Division One offers already. Look for Dissette to snag even more this summer.
