PLAYERS TO WATCH
Amari Allen Amari Allen 6'2" | PG Hamtramck | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, Hamtramck)
Allen is one of the elite perimeter defenders in the state of Michigan. He can always be counted on as a lockdown defender. Already a key contributor on offense, he’ll probably see even more looks at the rim and more chances to showcase his offensive skills in his senior season. Allen is capable of leading Hamtamck on a deep playoff run.
Bryce Eaton Bryce Eaton 5'10" | PG Detroit Edison | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, DEPSA)
Eaton is a lightning quick lead guard with some of the fastest feet in the state. He has the ability to beat the defense down the floor and leave them grasping as he changes direction on a dime. Eaton can use his quickness and fast first step to make plays for his team and explode on the offensive end.
Ryan Hurst Ryan Hurst 6'2" | SG North Farmington | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, North Farmington)
Hurst is a high level 2 guard that can get it done with top notch athleticism. He’s a threat to score from anywhere on the floor, forcing defenses to always know where he’s at. Hurst does a nice job getting defenders committed and then changing speeds or pulling up for a jumper.
Chas Lewless Chas Lewless 6'3" | PG Detroit King | 2024 KS (2024, PG, Detroit King)
Lewless’ move to Detroit King is a headline in the state. He’s one of the purest lead guards that we’ve seen here in a bit. Lewless is as a point guard what so many coaches say they want. He’s a 2 way player, terrific passer, high percentage shooter with great shot selection, and a natural leader.
Michael Myles (2024, SG, Redford Union)
Myles is a name that you may or may not be aware of, but heading into next high school season, you should get to know him. He’s an excellent defender that can be matched up against the opposing team’s top offensive perimeter threat. Myles is a disciplined athlete that thrives in his role.
Jahvair Pauldo Jahvair Pauldo 6'5" | PF Detroit Henry Ford | 2023 State MI (2023, F, Henry Ford)
There’s a lot to like about Pauldo’s game and his potential upside. I like his versatility, manning multiple positions. Pauldo can get up off the ground and has the ability to put up points without being ball dominant.
Lance Stone Lance Stone 5'7" | PG Detroit Renaissance | 2025 State #179 Nation MI (2025, PG, Detroit Renaissance)
Stone is one of the most exciting young point guards in the state. He’s a magician with the ball and can always create space. Stone can hit a moving player or a cutter while in motion himself. He’s terrific with the ball in his hands in transition.
