Continue ReadingStarting at midnight as Tuesday night turned into Wednesday morning Division I college basketball coaches were allowed to directly reach out to prospects in the Class of 2024. This made for a long and busy night for many of the states top rising juniors. However, as the recruiting calendar has changed in larger part due to the transfer portal, some coaches simply aren’t getting to work on the junior class as heavily as they would have in the past. That is to say that you shouldn’t be completely discouraged if you weren’t getting 12:01 phone calls and text message. Still though, the top prospects on college recruiting boards were hearing from coaches in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Here at Prep Hoops Indiana we are going to spend the day highlighting some Class of 2024 prospects that college coaches need to know. Let’s dive on in to five players that deserve immediate attention during the live contact period and heading into the next two weekends of live evaluation.
Isaac Andrews Isaac Andrews 6'1" | SG Wapahani | 2024 State IN (Wapahani H.S. 2024/Grand Park Premier UAA 2024): This prospect is one of the best pure three-point shooters in Indiana’s Class of 2024. He has proven to be a high level all-around scorer as well coming off of a sophomore season that saw him average 22.7 points per game on impressive 52/44/86 shooting splits.
Kobi Bowles Kobi Bowles 6'2" | PG Lawrence North | 2024 State IN (Lawrence North H.S. 2024/Indiana Ice Gold 2024): Bowles is clearly doing something right as he earned a Division I offer from Bethune-Cookman ahead of the live contact period. The 6’1″ guard is as explosive as anyone in the state with the ball in his hands. He can run the show in transition, gets downhill in a hurry going to his left hand, and is a creative finisher at the rim. Perfect for an up-tempo system.
Camron Casky Camron Casky 6'4" Pike | 2024 IN (Pike H.S. 2024/Progeny 2024): In terms of long-term potential, Caksy may well be the best prospect on this list. He had a productive sophomore season at Pike averaging 8.3 points per game. Now, the 6’5″ wing is coming off of a strong spring showcasing his versatility, athleticism, and ability to be a two-way force on the perimeter. Coaches should go ahead and get an early evaluation over the next couple of weekends.
Micah Davis Micah Davis 6'0" | PG Franklin | 2024 State #184 Nation IN (Franklin H.S. 2024/Indy Heat EYBL 2024): A smaller left-handed guard, Davis has proven that he can go up against some of the top competition in the country with a strong showing through three sessions of the Nike EYBL Circuit. Davis is excellent attacking the basket and can finish against size with his quickness and explosiveness at the end of his drives. Can create his own shot off of the bounce.
Taden Metzger Taden Metzger 6'3" | SG Fishers | 2024 State IN (Fishers H.S. 2024/Indiana Elite Team Indiana 2024): Metzger turned in an excellent sophomore season at Marion averaging 15.3 points per game while connecting on 60 of 136 three-point attempts. The sharpshooter has moved and enrolled at Fishers High School now and had a great spring in the Indiana Elite program. Any college coach that values shooting should be getting eyes on Metzger sooner rather than later.
