The summer is in full swing with July a little over a week away. The 2023 class is looking to have strong summers in front of college coaches, especially the point guards. Here are the under the radar 2023 lead guards who could have big summers.

[player_tooltip player_id="902754" first="Jordan" last="Atkins"], 6’0 PG Rutgers Prep

Atkins played well for the Argonauts in last weekend’s live period and is looking to continue it this coming weekend at Philly Live Session 2. The 6’0 guard is unselfish as the ball does not stick in his hands and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Atkins has a nice release on his jumper and does not rush his shot. He is a good rebounder for a guard his size and slides his feet on the defensive end. Atkins’ ability to control the pace of the game is something that will help his stock in a big way this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="1269732" first="Kamal" last="Lee"], 6’0 PG St. Thomas Aquinas

Lee had a strong junior campaign for the Trojans and is looking to carry it over into the summer. The 6’0 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he is a solid finisher around the basket and does not mind contact. Lee is more than just a slasher as he can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc and can play off the ball. He is a tough on-ball defender as he makes it hard for opponents to get into their sets. Lee is a gritty, two-way guard whose ability to make plays at both ends of the floor could open some eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150288" first="Nyle" last="Coleman"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1150287" first="Raja" last="Coleman"], 5’10 PG Peddie

The Coleman twins are an intriguing duo to watch this summer as they make plays with the ball in their hands. Nyle is a lefty lead guard with a quick release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Raja is a righty who can blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Both are good passers and slide their feet well on the defensive end. The Coleman twins are speedy point guards who should have strong summers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150283" first="Nick" last="Valentino"], 6’0 Red Bank Regional

Valentino is more of a scoring guard, but also has the ability to run the offense. The 6’0 guard uses his body well to finish through contact around the basket and is rarely off balance in the paint. Valentino has a nice release on his jumper and has a nice touch on his floater. He is a tough rebounder and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Valentino is in line for a big summer with his ability to score in multiple ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="1400501" first="Maurice" last="Crump"], 5’8 PG Burlington Township

Crump is one of the more slept on lead guards in the 2023 class and has the opportunity to move up the rankings this summer. The 5’8 guard has a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Crump has a nice touch on his floater and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He has a tight handle and works hard on the defensive end. Crump’s quickness combined with his ability to get into the paint is something that will help his stock this summer.

Other Prospects to Watch:

Antwann Bridgett, 5’9 PG Trenton

[player_tooltip player_id="933050" first="Jordan" last="Poole"], 5’11 PG Burlington Township

[player_tooltip player_id="933917" first="Bryce" last="Butler"], 6’0 PG Life Center Academy

[player_tooltip player_id="1150291" first="Greg" last="Jones II"], 6’0 PG Oratory Prep

[player_tooltip player_id="1400482" first="Ahmad" last="Robertson"], 5’10 PG Snyder
